14. Durarara!! (2010)

Ikebukuro is a mysterious and unique city. Some may like it and some may not. But one thing is certain, you will never have a mundane life ever in the city. There are hundreds of mysterious and rumors that you can follow and check out. One of the most famous legends is that of a headless driver who rides a black colored bike. It is said that she is searching for her head in the city. To take a break from his mundane life, Mikado Ryugamine decides to come to the city and stay with his friend and hence his adventures begin.

13. Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge (2006)

Al, this is a different kind of anime. I mean the theme is pretty normal and has been done before but the plot is kinda weird. The lead of the of anime series is a female character named Nakahara Sunako. She has a weird sorta gothic vibe to her. Due to an unfortunate past incidence when she was told that she was ugly by a boy she had a crush on, she now is allergic to beautiful things. She gets a nosebleed whenever she sees something beautiful. Four male characters decide to help her if they get to rent the house. Thus the funny journey starts.

12. Suisei no Gargantia (2013)

‘Suisei no Gargantia’ is a space-themed action, romance genre anime. The plot tells us that after becoming advanced humans started leaving Earth and went somewhere else in space. Slowly Earth was forgotten and an alliance known as Galactic Alliance for humans was formed to protect the needs of humans. But certain creatures emerged who waged a war on humans. Ledo is a young lieutenant who as a bot named Chamber. During a fight he is knocked into a wormhole when he wakes up he finds himself in a platen covered with water. He later understands that this is the planet Earth, the place of human origin.

11. Blood+ (2005)

The plot of ‘Blood+’ revolves around a girl named Saya Otonashi. She has an ordinary life and lives with her adoptive family. There is one thing different about her though. She has amnesia which has made her forgot her past. She is not able to recall anything except this year. But her past does come back to haunt her. She is attacked by a strange creature which can suck human blood and is saved by a guy. After forcing the creature away she is made to drink the blood of her savior which makes her go in a trance-like state and kill the creature. She decides to work for safeguarding human needs.

10. Speed Grapher (2005)

‘Speed Grapher’ is nice anime. The plot and characters are good enough to keep you interested. The plot is set at a time which has seen a war some time ago. In the aftermath of the war, known commonly as the Bubble War, it is shown that the wealth gap has increased a lot. Tokyo has become the city of the rich where they fulfill their desires by using monetary prowess. Saiga, the main protagonist used to be a photographer and is hired by Hibara Ginza to investigate a club. The investigation doesn’t go as intended as Saiga is caught and is brought before a woman. The meeting with the woman awakens a power within him which allows him to explode any place he takes the photograph of.

9. Higashi no Eden (2009)

If you love anime thrillers then this one can be an entertaining watch for you. The plot shows Japan being hit by a missile. The act is thought to be a terrorist attack but fortunately, no one is harmed and the day slowly moved towards oblivion. The show then follows Saki Morimi an ordinary Japanese student whose life is about to take a turn. Saki is actually visiting America during her graduation trip there. There she is saved from a situation by a boy named Akira who is kinda different. For starters, he is completely naked. he also possesses a mobile which has billions of Yens worth of digital cash. Saki befriends him but is slowly sucked into a dangerous world of a game with the risk of death hanging at all times.

‘Btooom!’ is another thriller genre action, romance anime. This anime is game themed in a way. The plot of the anime focuses on a man named Ryouta Sakamoto who isn’t much extraordinary in real life. He doesn’t have a job and lives off his mother. But he is one of the best one things though. He is Japan’s best player in an online game known as ‘Btooom!’. But his easygoing life is soon shattered as one day he wakes up to find himself stuck on an island and has no recollection of how he got there. As reality dawns on him, he understands that he is trapped in a place which is a recreation of Btooom! in the real world and he must kill all other participants to win.

7. Tenkuu no Shiro Rapyuta (1986)

‘Tenkuu no Shiro Rapyuta’ is a nice anime movie. It came out in the 1980s and is quite entertaining to watch. The main protagonist of the movie is Sheeta who is captured by the government who wants to get their hands on her mystical amulet. She has lost all her hope as she is aboard an airship and cannot see any escape route. But luckily the ship is raided by pirates and amidst the confusion, Sheeta escapes. She ends up meeting a boy who aspires to find the flying castle. She joins him on his adventure. But just when things are starting to look good for her the government is back on her track.

6. Rurouni Kenshin (1996)

I sometimes love to see love to watch samurai-themed anime. These anime often tend to have great sword fights and interesting characters who have a shady past. ‘Rurouni Kenshin’ treads on a similar theme. Upon leaving and roaming her kingdom she finds out the truth about it. Poverty and corruption linger at every corner. Before watching this anime you have to understand the depth of it. The plot might sound normal or even silly to some extent but believe me, this anime is good. The metaphorical and symbolical aspect of it, if understood, will make the viewers truly appreciate the creators. Utena Tenjou wants to become a prince after being rescued by one. He left a relic with her which is a ring. When she grows up and attends the Otori Academy she finds out that there are others who possess similar objects. 3. Suzumiya Haruhi no Syoshitsu (2010)

This is another great anime movie on this list. Haruhi Suzumiya loves mysteries and she set up an SOS Brigade with one of the main characters of the movie, Kyon. But one day when Kyon goes to school to attend SOS Brigade’s celebration he finds nothing. There is no sign of Haruhi Suzumiya at all. What’s stranger is that nobody seems to remember her or the SOS Brigade as a matter of fact. In addition to this, another person has gone missing named, Itsuki Koizumi. What has happened to Haruhi? This movie is quite entertaining.

High School romance is one of the most popular genres in any popular media be it series or movies. Anime also has some good high school romances. The ‘Little Busters!: Refrain’ anime has an underlying sports theme to it. The main characters are really interested in baseball and even form a team to play. 1. Eureka Seven (2005)

Renton Thurston is a skilled mechanic but is bored with his mundane life. He lives in Bellforest along with his grandfather who is also a mechanic. Renton wants to join Gekkostate, a group of mercenaries, to go on adventures but his grandfather doesn’t want him to. He wants him to be a mechanic like him. But one fine day a bot known as Nirvash typeZero crashes in his garage. Turns out the pilot of the bot is a girl who is a member of Gekkostate. After fixing the bot Renton joins the girl and becomes co-pilot of Nirvash thus finally joining Gekkostate.
