Featuring an upbeat and undersized protagonist, ‘Ahiru no Sora’ is all about a high school basketball team that initially stands nowhere in comparison with all the other schools. Out of all the mainstream sports that are featured in shounen anime, basketball is one sport that has only been a part of a few shows like ‘Slam Dunk’ and ‘Kuroko no Basket.’ Coincidentally, all of these basketball anime shows are more grounded to reality than other sports anime and do not delve into any fantastical elements.

‘Ahiru no Sora’ brings in more of a “Haikyu-like feel” that makes you want to pick up a ball and shoot hoops yourself. It is still far from reaching its full potential, but its 16-episode run so far has been quite promising. With that said, here is everything you need to know about its next episode.

Ahiru no Sora Episode 16 Recap

A lot has happened in ‘Ahiru no  Sora’ lately. Ryuuhei and Masahiro left the team for a while and Sora had to go behind them to convince them to come back. While he struggled to do so, he eventually did manage to convince them that he always had their back. After the two boys return to play for the team, Nao further intensifies the training. Realizing that most players will not be motivated enough since most of the major tournaments are too far ahead, he decides to bring in some of his own unique training drills to keep everyone motivated and hyped up for their next practice match.

He introduces the team to a whole new training agenda which has a lot to do with their defense. The new defensive screening marks the beginning of a whole new strategy that they’ll be adopting as a team in their upcoming match. After this intense training session, they prepare themselves for one final practice game which will determine their current position as a team compared to all the other schools out there. Determined to win, as soon as this match begins, Nao unveils his secret defensive strategy and with this, Kitasumi High School simply knocks out all of its competition. With Sora being the key to their victory, they prove that despite all the ups and downs that they’ve gone through in the past few months, they are no less than any other team out there. And as for all the other players who were a little reluctant about the intense training they were being forced to go through, they realize that all of their hard work was very well worth it.
