Ahiru no Sora Episode 18 Recap
The practice match continues and Chuck finally decides to take things in his own hands. He takes it upon himself to block number 7 and does a pretty good job at it. But the opposing team somehow finds a flaw in their strong defense and tries to work around it. While defending number 7 of the other team, Kite steals the ball and heads towards the other half of the court to score. However, with this, he also ends up leaving the defense of his own team completely open. Konishi steals the ball from him and goes ahead and scores.
The boys then become wary of the opposing team’s steals and even try their best to keep their game strong, but nothing seems to work. While Sora sits in the stands and observes, the rest of the team struggles to keep up with the sudden twist in the game. Kitasumi High is able to successfully make several steals and execute an impressive scoring streak that puts them on lead for the first time. Boys of Kuzuryū High seriously start questioning all of their new defense tactics and all the training they’ve been through in the past few days.
Realizing that his team needs him, Sora claims that he has rested enough and decides to go back to the court. The opposing team considers him to be stupid as he decides to make go back in the game in the last 30 seconds of the third quarter. Looking at his height, even the coaches of the opposing team underestimate him and claim that he is one reckless substitution, but little do they know that he is one of the best players of the team. As always, as soon as he starts playing for Kuzuryū High, he instantly changes the pace of the entire game. He claims that although he is tired, he would always prefer to be in court. In the last few seconds of the third quarter, Chucky makes an impressive pass to Sora and he shoots a three-pointer. With this, the quarter ends with a tie, making the boys realize that there’s still some hope.
