Ahiru no Sora Episode 20 Recap

Kuzuryū High has somehow been keeping with their opponents and with the help of Sora, they were also able to maintain a tie with the opposing team in the third quarter. But the final quarter is here now and the boys are still struggling to match the amazing game of their opponents. Sora, as always, gives his best on the court but almost all the other players get exhausted. Kitasumi High takes this to its advantage and further expands its lead. Their lead reaches double digits and that’s when Chiaki asks Sora to play as the point guard. This is, by far, the riskiest strategy he has ever implemented but something needs to be done if they still want to win.

In episode 20, Sora plays as the point guard and as expected, everyone else begins to question Chiaki’s decision. Because of his height, Sora is certainly not suited for the position but throughout the span of the anime, we have learned that he never lets his height get in his way of being a great player. Yet again, Sora proves that his short height can be an asset and bring his “A” game to the court. This makes their defense slightly better and Kitasumi High’s scoring spree finally comes to an end. With only a few more minutes left in the game, even after being extremely tired, the boys of Kuzuryū High do everything they can to turn things around. Sora and Chiaki even pull off an impressive alley-oop.

In the end, Kuzuryū High manages to make a pretty good come back but Kitasumi High still leads with a couple of points. Near the end of the episode, Sora gets the ball and with time running out, he is forced to go for a very desperate shot. While he stands a little ahead of the half-line mark, he makes a three-pointer shoot which stuns everyone. But before the ball hits the hoops, the episode comes to an end. Will he be able to make this winning shot for his team? To know that, we’ll have to wait for another week.
