3. Untitled Todd Haynes Project (2019)
Todd Haynes‘ untitled legal drama features Anne Hathaway, Tim Robbins and Mark Ruffalo in lead roles. The plot revolves around the legal battle against the devastating effects on the environment caused by the chemical company giant DuPont. Based on the New York Times Magazine’s article ‘The Lawyer Who Became DuPont’s Worst Nightmare’ written by Nathaniel Rich, the movie features Mark Ruffalo as Robert Bilott, the corporate defense attorney as a locus of the Dupont scandal. Anne Hathaway portrays Bilott’s wife, Sarah, reports Variety. The movie is directed by Todd Haynes from a screenplay by Matthew Carnahan and Mario Correa. The other cast includes Bill Camp, Victor Garber, Mare Winningham, William Jackson Harper, and Bill Pullman. Reports suggest that the untitled flick is expected to hit theaters in 2019.
4. The Witches (2020)
‘The Witches’ is a remake of the 1990 classic of the same name directed by Nicolas Roeg. Anne Hathaway is set to portray the role of the Grand High Witch in the movie, which is directed by Robert Zemeckis. Anjelica Huston played the witch in the original 1990 movie. Based on the 1973 novel, the movie follows a 7-year-old boy who accidentally witnesses a secret convocation of witches. Anne Hathaway’s High Witch introduces an evil scheme to turn all kids into mice. She also presents a magical spell for the plan. When the witches find out that the boy has overheard everything, the High Witch ordered to test the “mice” spell on him. Variety reports that Zemeckis’ version owes more to the novel, while Roeg opted to go for a loose adaptation. Zemeckis wrote the screenplay and executive produces the movie along with Jack Rapke, Alfonso Cuaron and Guillermo del Toro. ‘The Witches’ is slated for an October 16, 2020 release.

5. Modern Love (TBA)
Amazon Studios’ upcoming anthology series ‘Modern Love’ features a star-studded cast including Anne Hathaway, Sofia Boutella, Tina Fey, Dev Patel, John Slattery, Brandon Victor Dixon, Catherine Keener, Julia Garner, and Shea Whigham among others. The series is based on the popular New York Times column and weekly podcast on the nuances of interpersonal relationships in our times. Each half-hour episode features love and its complexities through interesting real-life inspired romantic endeavors. “It’s a testament to the reach of the original column and of how, now more than ever, love is the only certainty,” showrunner John Carney is quoted as saying in a THR report.

6. Sesame Street (2021)
Warner Bros.’ live-action comedy ‘Sesame Street‘ is based on the educational children’s television series of the same name from 1969. The movie adaptation features Anne Hathaway in the lead, according to a Collider report from December 2018. Though the plot details of the movie haven’t been disclosed yet, the report suggests that Hathaway plays the role of Sally, a girl appeared on the first episode of the popular education series in 1969. The show, which was a mixture of live-action and puppetry, was crowded with fan-favorites like Big Bird, Bert, Ernie, Grover, Oscar the Grouch, Cookie Monster, and Elmo. According to The Hollywood Reporter, filmmaker Shane Carruth has assembled an impressive cast for his latest movie project, The Modern Ocean. Anne Hathaway, Keanu Reeves, Daniel Radcliffe, Chloe Grace Moretz, Tom Holland, Asa Butterfield, Jeff Goldblum and Abraham Attah will star in the ensemble adventure drama, based on Carruth’s script. The storyline revolves around vengeance and the fierce competition for valuable shipping routes and priceless materials that converge in a spectacular battle on the rolling decks of behemoth cargo ships.
8. O2 (TBA)
Anne Hathaway has come on board to star in the independent science-fiction thriller ‘O2’. IM Global is financing the movie. Producers are Suzan Bymel and Hathaway with Echo Lake’s Adam Riback and James Engle, as well as IM Global’s Stuart Ford and Greg Shapiro. CAA is representing domestic rights of the movie. Producers are seeking a director for ‘O2’. Christie LeBlanc has written the script, in which a woman wakes up inside a cryogenic chamber with no memory of how she got there while the air in the chamber begins slowly running out. The script was named to the 2016 Black List in December.
9. The Lifeboat (TBA)
According to Deadline, Joe Wright is in talks to direct The Lifeboat with Anne Hathaway attached to star in the adaptation of Charlotte Rogan’s book. Hathaway is also producing the film. Film 360 and Focus Features acquired the rights and are developing Rogan’s book. The plot of the film is about a young newlywed-turned-widow standing trial in 1914 for murder. The story recounts how with the help of her new husband she survived the sinking of the Empress, a transatlantic ocean liner. She finds herself on a lifeboat, only to discover there are too many people on board, leading to a moral crisis as to who stays and who has to go. William Broyles Jr. (Castaway) is writing the script and exec producing.

According to Variety, Anne Hathaway is adapting a movie version of George Brant’s celebrated play ‘Grounded’. Hathaway liked the material so much that she locked up the film rights before signing her contract for the movie. ‘Grounded’ tells the story of a conflicted American Air Force pilot tasked with operating an unmanned drone.
2. Live Fast Die Hot (TBA)
According to Variety, Anne Hathaway is starring in and producing “Live Fast Die Hot,” based on Jenny Mollen’s recently published book of irreverent essays. Warner Bros has acquired movie rights to “Live Fast Die Hot,” a New York Times bestseller which was published by Doubleday in June. Gail Berman will serve as the producer. The project will be overseen by Warner Bros executive Chantal Nong .
3. The Shower (TBA)
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Warner Bros is negotiations for the Anne Hathaway-starring sci-fi action-comedy The Shower. The actress is attached to star in and produce the film with Jac Schaeffer writing the screenplay The story is set at a baby shower that gets upstaged by a massive meteor shower, bringing along blood-sucking aliens from outer space that crash the party. Hathaway’s husband Adam Shulman is producing along with Andrew Lauren and D.J. Gugenheim.
