Just before Love Is Blind aired its season 1 finale, there were posters doing rounds on the internet about a runaway bride. The blonde beauty, who had pictures of her taken without revealing her face, was seen running away from the altar. In the finale, we finally got to know that the bride was Giannina Gibelli. She ran away from the alter, got drenched in the rain while wearing high heels, and her face was all smeared with tears. Yes, the moment was truly heartbreaking.
But how did it come to this? Well, Gia and Damian Powers seemed to hit it off right from the start and fans were sure that they would end up saying the final vows. However, across the episodes, their physical and emotional intimacy started diminishing. They had huge arguments, massive miscommunications, and a very hurtful confession when Gia said: “You know how you tell me this is the best sex of your life? Have you noticed that I don’t return the compliment? I don’t say it’s the best sex of my life, too?”
Well, the comment definitely hurt Damian’s ego and he took his revenge by saying ‘I Don’t’ at the altar. But all these events are now things from the past. The show finished filming in 2018 itself and now, more than a year later, Gia confirms that she has no new love interests. She is stuck with the same one. A very cryptic message, we must say. So, does this mean the couple, by any chance, is still together? Let’s find out?
Are Giannina and Damian Still Together?
After their explosive break-up in the wedding finale of Love Is Blind season 1, Gia and Damian managed to get back together. This news was also confirmed during the reunion episode, when the couple explained that they still have a strong connection but they were not ready to commit to each other in the month of October 2018. Currently, the pair is trying to know each other better, at their own pace. They also revealed that since the show demanded they marry just within three weeks of meeting one another, they simply were not ready.
Gia recently posted a picture of her and Damian, touring the streets of NYC. She captioned it as follows: “closed out the #loveisblind coast-to-coast press tour in the city that never sleeps ✨ we created the most insane memories and met the loveliest people, honestly we couldn’t believe how much everyone supported our crazy love story and we are forever grateful. now time to cuddle up, down some vitamin c and watch @netflix during this quarantine. please stay safe everyone we love you ?”
The same can be said about Damian who took to his own social media to share some cozy moments with Gia. He captioned his post with: “Swipe to see the loves true colors continue to share! Hope all of my friends and followers have stayed healthy during the current health concerns.”
It’s indeed great to see the lovebirds get back together. In fact, after the filming of the finale, Gia reached out to Damian on the same night to discuss what happened. She explained that he was surprised to hear back from her. But Gia felt that they had unfinished business and she did not want to part on a sour note. They went back to their old house, cried together, healed together, and since then, there has been no looking back! Moreover, currently, Gia gets along pretty well with Damian’s family. And the Gibellis adore Damian. As of now, the pair is enjoying dating and have admitted that it might be a while before they get engaged again.
