Its stars Stephen Amell, Kate Cassidy, and Emily Beckett have risen to global stardom and won laurels for their soulful portrayals. The show has won a long list of awards, both technical and for the performances of the actors. ‘Arrow’ has maintained steady growth over the years and it was expected that it will probably wrap with the seventh. Arrow Season 7 Cast: Who’s in it?

The biggest news about the cast for the seventh season that surfaced was the sad news of Paul Blackthrone’s departure from the series. A series regular since the first season, the details around Blackthorne’s character’s departure have been kept under wraps. Blackthorne was latest in the list of people leaving the show. Willa Holland, who portrayed the character of Thea Queen as a series regular for the past seven seasons, also announced her own exit from the show. But Colton Haynes was brought back as a series regular, again playing the role of Roy Harper. As far as the behind the scenes cast is concerned, the original showrunners, Mark Guggenheim and Wendie Mericle, were replaced by Beth Schwartz, who was also promoted as an executive producer on the show.

Season 8 should see the same cast with a few changes. Majority of the members will be expected to return with several new entries.

Arrow Cast Season 7 Plot: What’s it about?

There’s been no speculation regarding the plot of season eight. The plot is expected to remain in consonance with the themes of the comic books and the other seasons that have flown by.

‘Arrow’ charts the rise of the Green Arrow, a mysterious vigilante who protects the city. The masked crusader is revealed to be Oliver Queen, a supposedly dead son of a rich business tycoon. His return leaves his friends and family shocked, who gradually come to know of his identity. Blessed with superhuman abilities, Oliver hones his skills in the secluded island and comes back to head his father’s business. As the show progresses, several other members of his friend circle and secret agencies come together to join hands with him and aid him in his mission to keep his city safe.

In season 7, we see the former billionaire businessman and politician dealing with the consequences of outing himself as a vigilante at the end of the previous season. Five months have passed, and Oliver is seen trying to maintain a low profile in the prison in hopes of being let out soon but trouble spells itself in and out of the prison. A new vigilante archer has appeared on the screen. Arrow season 7 also shares continuity with the other series in Arrowverse like Flash and Supergirl.

Arrow Season 8 Release Date: When will it premiere?

After an uneven and languid fourth season, the show bounced back in the fifth season and finished the sixth even stronger. Owing to its success, an official premiere date (via Deadline) for season 7 of Arrow was announced for October 15th at 8 p.m. ET.

As far as the air date for the eighth season is concerned, there has been no official announcement by the network. But as has been the tradition, it is expected that the eighth season will release around October this year.

In a Facebook live chat with his fans, Stephen Amell confirmed that he had been signed for an eighth season. “I’m more than happy to report that I reached an agreement with The WB and The CW to continue on in the role of Oliver Queen, and nothing makes me happier, because I love this job. Regardless of whether or not we get the 8th season, and I really enjoy how things are going right now… the fact that we are even discussing something with the number 8 involved is a testament to how much people enjoy doing the show, but more importantly, how much you guys have supported us, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you,” he said.

We will update this section with more details as we know.
