It’s the age of superheroes, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe is dominating it. Agreed, DC comics started making films based on their own characters long before Marvel got around to it, but Marvel beat them in the race of establishing a shared movie universe. Starting in 2008, Marvel has gone on to make a lot of interconnected movies, with multiple phases, and named the whole process as the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While these movies on the whole, are really enjoyable, there are some scenes which are just too sexy! Here’s our list of the 10 most awesome and great moments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
10. “S.H.I.E.L.D. is revealed to be infiltrated by Hydra” – Captain America : The Winter Soldier (2014)
In ‘Captain America : The Winter Soldier’, Dr. Arnim Zola, who had lived on with his consciousness being preserved in a huge computer, revealed to Captain America, a.k.a Steve Rogers, and Black Widow, a.k.a. Natasha Romanoff, that Hydra had been living inside S.H.I.E.L.D. like a parasite, for over 70 years, right since it started. The massive shocker revealed in the menacing voice of Toby Jones, who played Zola, makes this one of the sexiest moments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
9. “Ant-Man v/s Yellowjacket” – Ant-man (2015)
This final battle in ‘Ant-Man’, which is one of the funniest film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has Ant-Man fighting the villainous Yellowjacket, in a miniature fight. Despite being shown mostly in miniature the fight sequence is one of the very best. Right from riding Thomas the Tank Engine, to the part where a giant ant crawls out, the scene is very well crafted, and is one of the many reasons why ‘Ant-Man’ was surprisingly good.
8. “Dormammu, I’ve come to bargain!” – Doctor Strange (2016)
While the addition of Benedict Cumberbatch was reason enough to make ‘Doctor Strange’ a hit, that still wasn’t the only reason. The movie is a visual treat to watch, but a scene at the end really made Cumberbatch channel his Sherlock to get the villain Dormammu to give up. Strange traps Dormammu in a time loop using his time gem, and Dormammu kills him over and over again while Strange keeps returning, saying “Dormammu, I’ve come to bargain!” Amazing scene, and definitely one of the sexiest moments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
7. “The Iron Legion” – Iron Man 3 (2013)
‘Iron Man 3’ showed us a different side of Iron Man a.k.a. Tony Stark, as he tried to overcome Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) while having to battle the new baddie in town, the Mandarin. Tony Stark creates over 40 new suits in the process, and in the end, he summons all of them while trying to fight the Mandarin. The suits assembling together gave us the Marvel Cinematic Universe version of The Iron Legion.
6. “Loki is alive, and impersonating Odin” – Thor: The Dark World (2013)
‘Thor: The Dark World’ had Thor release Loki out of captivity so that they can fight against the Dark Elves. Jane Foster becomes the host of Aether, the secret weapon of the Dark Elves. Thor and Loki plan to go to Svartalfheim, to use Jane Foster to lure Malekith, the ruler of the Dark Elves, away from their realm, Asgard. Loki is shown to die in the process, but at the end, he is alive and impersonating Odin, while Thor remains clueless. The grin on Loki’s face is enough to get this scene a spot on this list.
5. “Hulk v/s Iron Man’s Hulkbuster” – Avengers : Age of Ultron (2015)
This is one of those moments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that had all the fans hyped up. We’re talking about the scene, in Africa, when the Avengers attack Ultron and the Maximoff twins. Wanda Maximoff, The Scarlet Witch gets into their heads, giving them haunting visions, which makes the Hulk go rogue, while Tony Stark tries to stop him with his Hulkbuster armor. A great fight sequence, and definitely one of the best scenes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
4. “Iron Man is born!” – Iron Man (2008)
After a missile demonstration by Tony Stark goes wrong, he is wounded and imprisoned in a cave by the Ten Rings, a terrorist faction. Fellow prisoner Yinsen helps him survive by making an electromagnet that goes into his chest, and keeps the shrapnel from the missile accident from getting to his heart. When the leader of the Ten Rings offers the pair freedom if they build a missile for them, the pair build the first ever Iron Man suit in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When the terrorists attack them, Tony manages to escape with the help of the suit, thus giving birth to Iron Man. This sets the proper beginning of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
3. “Star-Lord and the Guardians beat Ronan” – Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)
‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ is one of the newer additions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the first movie was a fun ride. The movie focused around the formation of the Guardians as a team, and the most important scene was when they came together to defeat Ronan. The scene is set towards the end of the movie, and starts off with Star-Lord challenging Ronan to a dance off to distract him while Drax and Rocket destroy Ronan’s warhammer freeing the infinity Stone attached to it. Star-Lord grabs it, along with the others, and uses it to defeat Ronan.
2. “Avengers reassemble” – Avengers : Age of Ultron (2015)
The Avengers are shown to reassemble in a well synchronized action sequence through the snowy woods of Sokovia, on their way to Baron Von Strucker’s castle, which they had to attack to get hold of Loki’s Scepter, which had previously caused them a lot of trouble, in the first Avengers film. The most striking scene was where all the Avengers are shown to line up to take a dig at Strucker’s men, while making their way to the castle.
1. “Avengers face-off at the Airport” – Captain America : Civil War (2016)
‘Captain America : Civil War’ showed the Avengers split into two teams. The rift is caused over the idea of Superhero registration – so that the government can track their activities to monitor for potential damage caused by them. The two teams are essentially headed by Iron Man, and Captain America, and they ultimately collide at an airport, and the result is brilliant. Team Tony consists of War Machine, Black Widow, Black Panther, Vision, and Spider-Man, making his official entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, while the opposing Team Steve is made up of Hawkeye, Falcon, Bucky Barnes, Ant-Man, and Scarlet Witch. The two teams are shown having an amazing battle, which is one of the very best moments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, till date!
