The latest Vicky Kaushal film has been creating a lot of buzz and has been widely praised. Alia Bhatt starring alongside Kaushal, Raazi is a strong dramatic thriller that stirs emotional tension. Meghna Gulzar the director does not force the film too much and through that is able to tell a silent yet powerful story.
It is about an Indian spy (Bhatt) married to a Pakistani military officer (Kaushal) prior to the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971 on the order of her father. The film is turning out to be a huge success both critically and commercially.
3. Love Per Square Feet (2018)
One of the latest Netflix India production starring Vicky Kaushal and Angira Dhar. The film tells the story of a boy and a girl who try to find a house in Mumbai. It is a youthful film that is anchored by the terrific young actors with charm and perfect understanding of their characters.
Loves per Square Feet does not fulfill the potential it showcases initially but is definitely still a feel good film that will entertain you and make you smile.
2. Masaan (2015)
Masaan is one of the best films to have come out in modern Bollywood. Directed by Neeraj Ghaywan, the film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and was very well received. Starring Richa Chadda, Sanjay Mishra, Vicky Kaushal and Shweta Tripathi, Masaan is a film that intertwines the story of several people in the city of Varanasi.
The bold direction and writing are bolstered by wonderful performances from all its four leads. Masaan is one of the ground-breaking independent films that seems desperate to speak a different language to the traditions of Bollywood and finds its own unique voice.
1. Zubaan (2015)
Vicky Kaushal plays a young ambitious yet timid boy who wants to pursue singing despite suffering from speech impairment. The film drags a little in the middle and will test your patience but eventually pays off with powerful and fresh energy.
This is one of the great music based films to come out from Bollywood in recent memory. The music is far more serious than your typical Bollywood songs which some might expect.
