Bill Walton was born on November 5th, 1952, in San Diego, California. He is a professional Basketball player. Bill Walton started playing Basketball in the school. He was introduced to the game by his school coach Frank Graciano when Bill was in the fourth grade. In high school, his Basketball team won the championship for 2 years under the coach Gordon Nash. In High school, Walton became the only basketball player to make it to the USA Senior Men’s National Basketball Team and play in the Olympics. Walton also becomes the first basketball player from the high school to be cherished in the National High School Hall of Fame.

Walton joined UCLA in 1970. For three seasons (1972-1974), he played center for John Wooden’s Varsity team and with the freshman team in 1971. He was a member of two unbeaten NCAA championship teams compiling an NCAA record 88 consecutive game winning streak. Bill Walton is nominated three times for the NCAA player of the year Award i.e. in 1972, 1973 and 1974. He is also the three-time All-America College Player winner and the winner in 1973 of the Sullivan Award for the United States Best Amateur Athlete. His achievements not only end here. Moreover, for the three consecutive years, he was the Pac-8 Conference Player of the Year and was also named 3 times to the Pacific 8 All-Conference first team.

In 1977, Walton became the member of the NBA draft of Trailblazers and played for it till 1979. During this period he played for many teams and finally played for Boston Celtics from 1985-1988 before announcing retirement. Bill Walton gradually became the most valuable player in the NBA and achieved many honors and awards while playing for the team. He was the Most Valuable Player in the 1978 and won the NBA All-Star Team awards, all-NBA second team in 1977, NBA Sixth Man Award in 1986.

Walton holds the record of winning the multiple NCAA and multiple NBA Championships. He is one of the four players to achieve this feat. Walton is also one of the five players in the history of NBA to lead the league in blocked shots.

Walton played total 80 games. In 1987-1988. He finally played for league’s premier teams, the Boston Celtics, and the Los Angeles Lakers and also made it to the Playoff’s, however, Walton injured himself during these years and attempted a comeback in 1990 but failed to compete with his body and ultimately announced his retirement in 1990.
