‘Billion Dollar Buyer’ is an American reality show that first premiered on March 22, 2016, on CNBC. The show is created by David Tibballs and features the business mogul Tilman Fertitta, owner of Landry’s Inc. Tilman finds entrepreneurs and small business owners, who can become potential suppliers of new and innovative hospitality products, to his company.

‘Billion Dollar Buyer’ is one such show that gives certain people one of the biggest opportunities of their lives. It is a platform where they can transform their lives completely and make their dreams come true. The show has had a good run for three seasons, leaving fans wondering about whether there will be a fourth. We are here to answer that after we share some details about the series.

Who is Tilman Fertitta?

Tilman Fertitta, as mentioned earlier, is the face of the show. Fertitta is one of the leading businessmen in the world currently, and the owner of Landry’s Inc. Landry’s Inc. is a multi-brand dining, entertainment, hospitality, and sports corporation company. Tilman owns more than 600 restaurants, casinos, entertainment centers, and hotels in the United States. Apart from these, he also owns a private hangar and the Houston Rockets (no kidding!).

Tilman Fertitta, according to Forbes 400 in 2018, was in the top 200 wealthiest Americans. Fertitta is the front and center of the show. He is the judge, host, and show-runner – all in one. To imagine someone else taking the place of Fertitta in the show, for its upcoming season, is next to impossible. Though the official cast of season 4 is not yet confirmed, we hope to see the billionaire return to his position soon.

Billion Dollar Buyer Plot: What is it about?

It all begins with an idea. In today’s time, your biggest assets are your ideas and imagination. The more innovative business ideas you have, the more chances you get to make it big someday. Tilman Fertitta, a self-made business tycoon, who started from almost nothing in his career, understands this better than anyone else. That is the reason why he, through the platform of ‘Billion Dollar Buyer’, gives an opportunity to budding entrepreneurs and small business owners to crack the deal of a lifetime.

Fertitta, in every episode, visits different parts of the country and spends time with two small businesses. These businesses need to impress Fertitta with their innovative hospitality products that he can use in his hotels, casinos, and restaurants. The products can be related to anything – food, drinks, spa goods, merchandise, linen, and so on.

Once Fertitta is done with testing the samples and meeting the owners, he gives his advice and feedback. The owners then work on areas of improvement. At the end of the episode, owners meet Fertitta with their final products at Landry’s’ headquarter in Houston. It is then up to Fertitta if he wants to offer the deal to one contestant, both of them, or neither of them.

In Season 3, Fertitta meets the owners of Autonomy Farms, who try to impress Fertitta with their organic beef and produce. He also meets the owner of Too Pretty, an athleisure company. He later meets the owners of Nino’s, who are traditional pasta-makers, besides meeting the founders of Social Sparkling Wine, clean alcohol producers in Chicago.

Lowe Co. is a stationery line created by Sean and Catherine Lowe, and Bella Breeze is an air-conditioned furniture builder. Both aim to impress Fertitta and change their future forever. Hanley’s Foods and Pasturebird are both family-run businesses that try to impress Fertitta with their unique culinary skills.

Mar-Tea-Na is an innovative tea company trying to enter the hospitality business and Eat.Drink.Host. is a paper goods business company that is hoping to score big with the Houston Rockets. Texas Mattress Makers and K&N Granite are both family-owned businesses reeling from the effects of Hurricane Harvey. Fertitta has a tough time deciding who needs and deserves the opportunity more.

Billion Dollar Buyer Season 4 Release Date: When will it premiere?

‘Billion Dollar Buyer’ Season 3 premiered on January 3, 2019, on CNBC. The 7-episode season concluded its final episode on February 28, 2018. The series has been well received by the audience and critics, and its pilot became one of the most-watched episodes which received the highest primetime rating in 2016.

After the first season, Fertitta seemed pretty excited about the second season and said, “We don’t want to lose momentum… We’re going to probably start shooting again this summer.” The second season released in the same year as Season 1.

The series has maintained consistency in terms of its ratings and has been keeping the spirit of entrepreneurship high. There has been no official announcement about the release of Season 4 and we can understand the reason for the delay to be the busy schedule of the billionaire host. However, if we have to guess, ‘Billion Dollar Buyer’ Season 4 is likely to release sometime in March 2020.

If you are a budding entrepreneur and have, or need ideas to make your business grow exponentially, then the show is the perfect pick for you. The premise of the show is thrilling, innovative and really, really smart.
