‘Bless This Mess’ is a comedy sitcom that follows a married couple – Mike and Rio, as they leave their city lifestyle in New York to adopt a quiet and peaceful rural life on a Nebraska farm. But things don’t go as per plan, and the two find themselves struggling to adjust to the country lifestyle. Upon its release in April 2019, the series garnered a lot of praise from the audiences and critics for its contemporary comedy, multi-layered characters, easy-flowing narrative, and fish out of water theme. It was quickly renewed for a second season, which concluded in May 2020. Since then, fans have been wondering if there will be a ‘Bless This Mess’ season 3. Let’s find out!

Bless This Mess Season 3 Release Date: Renewed or Cancelled?

‘Bless This Mess’ season 2 premiered on September 24, 2019, on ABC and wrapped up its run on May 5, 2020, after airing 20 episodes of 30 minutes each.

As far as season 3 is concerned, here’s what we know. Season 2 attracted an average of 0.67 demo rating and 3.6 million total viewers and the numbers were at par with its inaugural run. It also ranked fifth among all the sitcoms aired by ABC in the 2019-2020 season. So, it delivered a modest performance in its sophomore outing. And yet, surprisingly, the network decided to ax the show. ABC did not give any reason for the decision but it is officially confirmed that ‘Bless This Mess’ season 3 stands cancelled.

Bless This Mess Cast: Who is in it?

The series features Dax Shepard (‘Spin the Wheel’) as a laid-back music journalist, Mike Levine-Young. Lake Bell (‘ER’) joins the cast as Rio Levine-Young, Mike’s wife, who is also a certified therapist. Pam Grier stars as Sheriff Constance Terry, while Langston Kerman appears as Constance’s son, Brandon Terry. Ed Begley Jr. plays Rudy Longfellow, Constance’s on-off flame.

The cast also includes David Koechner as Beau Bowman, Lennon Parham as Kay Bowman, JT Neal as Jacob Bowman, Belle Adams as Janine, Susie Essman as Donna, Lisa Linke as Clara, Jim O’Heir as Kent, Nancy Lenehan as Deb, and Celia Watson as Dolores, among others.

Bless This Mess Plot: What is it About?

‘Bless This Mess’ follows a couple named Mike and Rio Levine-Young, who moves from New York to Nebraska after Mike inherits his great-aunt’s farm. The rest of the story chronicles their lives as they adjust to this new set-up and interact with their quirky neighbors.

In the two-part season 2 finale, Janine expresses concerns that she might be pregnant with Jacob’s child. An infuriated Kay also show’s pregnancy symptoms. A tornado strikes the town, and Rio hurriedly places all the pregnancy tests, including her own in her pockets. Meanwhile, a restaurateur from Omaha comes to town to set up a franchise, and Mike and Beau compete to determine whose eggs get chosen by Dolores. She selects the eggs from Mike’s farm. Rudy and Dolores develop a secret romantic affair.
