6. Akshay Kumar: Chef

Akshay Kumar is currently one of the highest paid actors in Bollywood. Directors and Producers are ready to pay any amount to involve him with their projects because he has given back to back successful films in the few years. He is one of the most versatile actors we have in our Hindi film industry. However, the the country’s favorite action hero was not born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He has faced his own struggles before becoming the superstar that he is today. There were days he worked as a waiter and a dishwasher in a restaurant in Bangkok, Thailand to make his ends meet. He later worked as a chef too. While in Bangkok he learned martial arts and upon completing his training he came to Mumbai to teach martial arts to students. It was through one of his students that he got his first modeling assignment and later made his debut with ‘Saugandh’ (1992).

 

7. Amitabh Bachhan: Shipping Company Executive

The idol needs no introduction but it might interest you to know that he is not just the most popular actor in the world but he was also the first Asian actor to have a wax statue at the Madame Tussad’s in London. His achievements are numerous and he has continued to rule Bollywood over several decades with his unmatchable success.  But this superstar who is idiolized by millions, worked as an executive in a shipping firm called Shaw Wallace. He also worked as freight broker for another shipping company called bird and Co. It’s shocking but it’s true that he also tried for a radio announcer’s job in All India Radio and got rejected because of his voice. After trying out several jobs, he moved to Mumbai to make a career in Bollywood and made his debut with ‘Saat Hindustani’ in the year 1969.

 

8. Rajinikanth: Bus Conductor

It’s almost impossible for Indians to not know about this actor as his craze is spread out across the nation but most particularly in South India. People worship him like god and also have temples dedicated to him in south. But before Rajnikanth got the unimaginable success and became what he is known for today, he was just a poor boy born in a Maharashtrian family in Bangalore. He worked as a bus conductor for Bangalore Transport Service (BTS) before joining the Madras Film Institute where a renowned director discovered him and soon Rajini signed his first film ‘Apoorva Raagangal’ (1975).

 

9. Shah Rukh Khan: Theater actor

He is not just known as the king of Bollywood but a great business man too. Despite not having a god father in the industry, the actor has proved to be a legend and has set benchmark for generations to come. He is also known as one of the most successful film stars in the world and his movies have often been blockbuster hits at the box office. But, before fortune bestowed upon him, he had those days where he also worked as an usher for a Pankaj Udhas show in Delhi. He also worked as an actor for television shows like ‘Fauji’ and ‘Circus’. In the year 1992, he made his debut in a film called ‘Deewana’ and has since then worked in more than 80 films and reigned over the industry like a real king.

 

10. Parineeti Chopra: PR Consultant

This Bollywood beauty is known for her remarkable performances in movies like ‘Ishaqzaade’, ‘Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl’ among many others. She moved to London where she received a triple honours degree in business, finance and economics from Manchester Business School in United Kingdom. During her student days, she also worked as the team leader of the catering department for Manchester United Football Club. After moving to India, she worked in the marketing department of Yash Raj Films Studio as public relations consultant. Later, she signed her first film and made a debut with ‘Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl’.
