Shueisha Inc. first approached Masashi Kishimoto, the creator of ‘Naruto’, with the idea of a ‘Boruto’ manga series. Kishimoto initially declined and instead suggested the name of his former assistant, Mikio Ikemoto, as the illustrator for the project. Ukyō Kodachi, who served as the writer on ‘Boruto: Naruto the Movie’, was hired to create the story. The first issue of the manga was published on May 9, 2016. In November 2020, Kishimoto replaced Kodachi as the writer. The TV anime premiered on April 7, 2017. Since then, both the manga and anime have established themselves in the ever-growing ‘Naruto’ fictional universe. Here is what you need to know about the upcoming ‘Boruto’ episode.

Boruto Episode 178 Release Date: When will it premiere?

‘Boruto’ Episode 178, titled ‘Our Father’s Backs’, is set to be released on December 13, 2020. The series is produced by Pierrot Studio and currently directed by Masayuki Kōda.

Where to Watch Boruto Episode 178 English Dub Online?

Viewers can watch ‘Boruto’ on Crunchyroll and Hulu with its original Japanese audio and English subtitles. The US fans of the series can stream its English dubbed version on Viz Media. If you are in Australia and New Zealand, your best bet is AnimeLab.

Boruto grew up in the immense shadow of his father, angry with him because he thinks that Naruto has chosen his duties as the Hokage over his family. When he enrolls at the Hidden Leaf Village’s Ninja Academy, he thinks that he has something to prove not only to his father but also to himself. In time, he becomes a close friend of Sarada Uchiha, the daughter of his father’s best friend and one-time rival, Sasuke Uchiha. It is revealed that their destinies are interconnected. In episode 177, titled ‘The Iron Wall’s Sensing System’, Inojin, Boruto, and Shikadai take part in a test to figure out what Konoha’s new sensory barrier is really capable of. They also try to find a ninja from the Bingo Book.
