‘Bull’ is an American legal drama series that airs on CBS. It first premiered on September 20, 2016, after the network had ordered the show on May 13, 2016. The series has been created by Phil McGraw and Paul Attanasio. Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television used to be one of the companies backing the project. However, following charges of sexual harassment against the star Michael Weatherly by a fellow co-star, Spielberg and his wife Kate Capshaw, who are both major supporters of the Time’s Up movement, decided to back out of the project. Other companies currently involved in the project are Picturemaker Productions, Atelier Paul Attanasio, Stage 29 Productions, and CBS Television Studios. Spielberg, of course, used to be an executive producer, but the others who are currently serving the show in the same position are, Paul Attanasio, Phil McGraw, Jay McGraw, Mark Goffman, Rodrigo Garcia. Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank also used to be on board, up until recently.
The series is all about trial consulting, and the viewers get to see how a combination of psychology and data is used, not just to know what makes the jurors tick, but also to figure out what strategies should be employed by lawyers to best sway the jury in their favor. If you are wondering how things go on at Trial Analysis Corporation (TAC) for a trial consultant, this show closely follows how trial consultants grow professionally and all that they go through. Although the series has a fan following and is one of CBS’ more lucrative shows, it has not received quite a lot of critical acclaim. Critics remain of the opinion that the series might have stellar performances working for it, but the narrative depends a lot on cliched legal tropes that exist aplenty on television.
Bull Cast: Who is in it?
The main cast of ‘Bull’ includes the protagonist, Dr. Jason Bull, whose part is played by Michael Weatherly. Benjamin “Benny” Colon’s role is played by Freddy Rodriguez. Geneva Carr stars as Marissa Morgan. Jamie Lee Kirchner stars as Danielle “Danny” James. Christopher Jackson plays Chunk Palmer. Annabelle Attanasio plays the role of Cable McCrory, a skilled hacker who is fired for breaking the law but keeps helping her old company. Mackenzie Meehan appears in the role of Taylor Rentzel, a cyber expert hired to replace Cable after her death. The main cast is joined by several supporting characters which include the likes of Jill Flint as Diana Lindsay, a lawyer of some prominence with whom Bull has a romantic and professional history, and Eliza Dushku as J.P. Nunnelly, a legal fixer. These supporting characters help enrich the overall atmosphere of the show.
In the upcoming season, we hope most of the main cast to return and maybe we will see some new faces as well, which are bound to make things interesting. Notably, Cable’s character will not be returning, having been killed off in the show, but she might appear in flashbacks. Dushku might also not reprise her role since she accused Weatherly of the sexual harassment charges that we mentioned earlier. It seems unlikely the survivor will be willing to work with the perpetrator after the ordeal, so we might not see her return.
Bull Plot: What is it about?
The plot of ‘Bull’ is all about Trial Analysis Corporation which is headed by Dr. Jason Bull who holds three PhDs in psychology. He hates lawyers and has a difficult childhood. He is also a trial science expert. Using his knowledge in that domain, he recruits and selects the right jury members for his clients. He also helps the lawyers with their points of arguments so that they can win the argument in question.
