Cardi B, real name Belcalis Almanzer, was born on 11, October 1992 in New York, US. She has a Dominican descent from her paternal side and a Trinidadian descent from her maternal side. Cardi B attended Renaissance High School for Musical Teacher & Technology, which is a vocational high school located in the campus of Herbert H. Lehman High School.

In her teens, Cardi B worked at a supermarket located in Lower Manhattan and later on started working as a stripper at the age of 19 in order to avoid domestic violence and poverty at the time. She gained popularity with her videos which went viral on social media, her Instagram handles and on Vine as well.

Cardi B is not only an American rapper but is also a reality television star and a social media sensation. In June, Cardi B released her first commercial single ‘Bodak Yellow’ which became an instant hit and earned a top spot in the US Billboard Hot 100 in August. The single made a history when it made it to the top rank in Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. Cardi B became the first female solo rapper to have a single at no. 1 spot since Lauryn Hill’s 1998 single ‘Doo Wop.’

She continued to earn success in 2017 and went on to collaborate with G-Eazy for ‘No Limit’, Ozuna for ‘La Modelo’, Migos for ‘MotorSport’ and released her second single in December titled ‘Bartier Cardi.’ In April 2018, she released her debut studio album titled ‘Invasion of Privacy’ which went on to enter number one position in the US. Cardi B went on to become the first female artist to have 13 entries on Billboard Hot 100 simultaneously. Cardi B got engaged to Migos group member, Offset in October 2017.
