Check Out New Trailer for Disney’s ‘Descendants 3’

Disney Channel has unveiled the new trailer for the upcoming movie ‘Descendants 3.’ The first look was released by stars Sofia Carson, Cameron Boyce and Booboo Stewart at Radio Disney’s inaugural ARDYs music celebration on Sunday night. The notorious Villain Kids a.k.a. the VKs of the franchise return to wreak more havoc in the trailer along with director Kenny Ortega, who is known for the popular High School Musical trilogy in the 2000s.

Returning cast includes Dove Cameron, Sofia Carson, Cameron Boyce and Booboo Stewart. Mitchell Hope, Thomas Doherty, Dylan Playfair, Anna Cathcart, Sarah Jeffery, Jedidiah Goodacre, Zachary Gibson, Brenna D’Amico, Judith Maxie, Dan Payne, Keegan Connor Tracy, and Melanie Paxson also reprise their roles in the third installment. New cast members are Jadah Marie, Jamal Sims, Christian Convery and Luke Roessler.

‘Descendants 3’ centers on the ‘VK Day’ in which Mal (Dove Cameron), Evie (Sofia Carson), Carlos (Cameron Boyce), Jay (Booboo Stewart) cross the barrier and make a risky return to the Isle of the Lost. Their mission is to bring four talented VKs to the Auradon Prep. But the security measures of Auradon are at risk after their return to the island. In order to save the kingdom from her enemies Uma (China Anne McClain) and Hades (Cheyenne Jackson), Mal decides to shut down the barrier permanently. But When an unimaginable evil force descends upon the people of Auradon, Mal and other VKs brace up for their biggest and epic battle till date, reports Deadline.

“Descendants 3 will be the biggest in the scope of all the previous movies,” Kenny Ortega told EW in February this year. “Everything has been scaled to deliver an epic story. The characters, the sets, the costumes, the dance numbers are all bigger, better and the baddest!”

The musical fantasy film series, which premiered in 2015, is set in the United States of Auradon. The prosperous country is ruled by Queen Belle and King Beast. They exile all the villains to the Isle of the Lost which is separated from the kingdom by a magic-free barrier. But four kids from the Isle of the Lost are allowed to live in Auradon upon the request of the son of the Queen and the King. The four villain kids have to prove that they are free from the evils of their parents. ‘Descendants’ was followed by the second movie in the series, ‘Descendants 2’ which debuted on Disney Channel on July 21, 2017.

Sara Parriott and Josann McGibbon, who wrote the first two movies, are also returning for the third movie. Disney Channel will premiere ‘Descendants 3’ at 8 p.m. on Friday, August 2, 2019.
