Chicago Med Season 5 Episode 18 Recap:

Dr. Charles warns Halstead that it is unwise for him to pursue a relationship with Dr. Asher right now as she is still in the early stages of her recovery. Charles explains that she would now seek the same level of high from romance as she would from drugs. So Halstead would have to be content being a friend to Dr. Asher or leave her altogether. In another scene, Halstead receives a new patient named Evelyn, diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s. She also has symptoms of kidney failure.

Meanwhile, Goodwin is dealing with her own issues. She had started dating her ex-husband Bert, who in turn, reveals the same to her son — a thing that Goodwin did not want right now. Their son Michael is upset as he does not want his parents to get back together. But when Michael asks his mum if she is seeing Bert again, she says she isn’t.

However, later, Goodwin decides to come clean and mend relationships with her husband and son. She invites both of them for dinner and here, she explains that Bert was not the only person responsible for the divorce. Both of them had their own faults. Goodwin tells Michael that she now wants to give their marriage a second chance. Michael agrees. It seems things are going positively for the fam as of now. However, the same cannot be said for Halstead. He chooses to ignore Charles’ advice and decides to pursue Asher. How will it end for him? We should find out in the next episode (s).
