Ramon Luis Ayala Rodriguez, popularly known by his stage name Daddy Yankee was born to his mother Rose Ayala and father Triby Ayala on February 3, 1977, in San Juan, Puerto Rico in the United States. Yankee was originally a baseball player and he was often considered to be one of the pioneers within the Reggaeton genre but he was shot in his leg while taking a break from a studio recording session. In the early age, Yankee started his career by attempting to imitate the rap style of Visco C and later he appeared in several DJ Playero’s underground mixtapes which were banned by the Puerto Rican government due to explicit lyrics.

Daddy Yankee considered rapper Nas to be his inspiration in the year 1997 when they together released an album song called “The Prophecy”. In the year 1997 and 2001, Daddy Yankee released two original albums with the help of Various Artists called EI Cartel and EI cartel II.

These albums were very famous but not very successful around Puerto Rico around Latin America. Daddy Yankee formed a duo in the year 2000 with his fellow artist Nicky Jam and later he released several successful single songs. Daddy Yankee and Nicky Jam in the year 2012 released several albums and they reconciled together in various concerts.

On 30th April 2006, Daddy Yankee set a record among the 100 most influential people. Yankee released a mixtape namely “King Daddy” on 29th October 2013, which was produced by Los De La Nazza on high demand of his fans and is a return to his original reggaeton roots. Daddy performed on his King daddy tour from 13th May to 22nd June 2014, touring several cities in Europe and later he also toured in South and North American cities. On 17th January 2014, he released his single “Ora Por Mi” as part of King Daddy’s bonus tracks where he used the Scorpion’s “Send Me An Angel” instrumental with a rap sampler.

Daddy Yankee was awarded on 28th April 2016 with the “Industry Leader Award” during the 2016 Latin Billboard Awards. Yankee participated in a campaign in the year 2008 to promote voting in Puerto Rico and he enclosed Republican John McCain’s Candidacy for the President of the United States in the year 2008 election. Daddy Yankee kept most of the things about his personal life in private because he believed that such details are the only aspects of his life and those are not public and they are like a “Title treasure” to him.
