How did Donald Glover earn his money and wealth?
Donald McKinley Glover was born on the 25th of September in 1983 to daycare provider Beverly and postal worker Donald Sr. at Edwards Air Force Base in California. He grew up in Stone Mountain of Georgia. He did his schooling at DeKalb School of the Arts and then went on to pursue degree in dramatic writing in New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts from where he graduated in 2006.
In 2006, Glover sent his writing samples that included a script of The Simpsons to David Miner. Miner was quite blown by the writing skills of Glover and offered him the opportunity to work as a writer for NBC’s 30 Rock for which he worked for a period of 3 years and even appeared on the show occasionally. He went on to sack the Writers Guild of America Award for Best Comedy Series in 2009. In 2008, Glover stepped in to the musical world by releasing his independent mixtape Sick Boi under the moniker Childish Gambino. Donald Glover started being identified by the public after Dan Harmon’s NBC sitcom Community that premiered in 2009. Glover went on to appear in 5 of the seasons and then retired. The same year of 2009, he released his second mixtape Poindexter.
In 2010, Glover performed on the stand-up show Comedy Central Presents. Clover released the song “Troy & Abed’s Christmas Rap” with Danny Pudi and it soon rose to the peaks of popularity. His music video “Freaks and Geeks” was released in 2010 and the song in it was later adopted in the advertisement for Adidas. His first official single Bonfire was released in 2011. He set out on a music tour titled IAMDONALD on April 16 and touched down Las Vegas, Houston, Washington and Atlanta.
In the year 2014, Glover was nominated for two Grammy Awards in the categories of Best Rap Album for his album Because The Internet and Best Rap Performance for his single 3005. For his show Atlanta that premiered in FX in the year 2016, Glover sacked two Golden Globe Awards in the categories Best Television and Best Actor Television Series Musical or Comedy. He also added two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series in the same year to his list of accolades.
One of the big breaks in Glover’s career was his role as Aaron Davis in the 2017 film Spider-Man: Homecoming. His movies Solo: A Star Wars Story and The Lion King is set to release in 2008 and 2009 respectively.
