‘Duff Takes the Cake’ marks the fifth appearance of celebrated pastry Duff Goldman as a host on the Food Network, following ‘Spring Baking Championship’, ‘Buddy vs Duff’, ‘Kids Baking Championship’, and ‘Holiday Baking Championship’. For years now, Goldman has been wowing his top-tier clientele with his avant-garde cake designs and masterful artistry. He is the executive chef of the Baltimore based Charm City Cakes shop which has featured on the Food Network reality television show ‘Ace of Cakes’, and his second Los Angeles based shop Charm City Cakes West, which has also featured in Food Network’s ‘Duff till Dawn’ and ‘Cake Masters’ series. Other television appearances of Goldman include ‘Food Network Challenge’, ‘Iron Chef America’, ‘Oprah’, ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and ‘Man vs Food’.

Structured as five, half- hour episodes, Goldman’s ‘Duff Takes the Cake’ follows him and his A-team of talented designers, builders and cake decorators as they engineer state of the art creations commemorating essential milestones of exceptional people serving their communities. “Viewers will be amazed by the unrestrained creativity and ingenuity of the one-of-a-kind, impressive cake designs that Duff and his extraordinary team of artists create”, said Courtney White, President of the Food Network. She adds, “No job is too big, and no detail is too small, adding a mix of intensity and entertaining comedy to the series.” It comes as no surprise that the partnership between a lifestyle network (Food Network) with the sole purpose of celebrating the joys of food, and the passionate, experimental pastry chef Goldman, is a match made in gastronomical heaven.

Duff Takes the Cake Cast: Who’s in it?

‘Ace of Cakes’ star Duff Goldman and his extraordinary team consisting of talented pastry designers, builders, and cake designers feature in each of the five, half-hour long episodes of the new Food Network reality television series ‘Duff Takes the Cake’. Each episode follows the miraculous creation process of a separate cake designated for celebrating important milestones of kind-hearted people working for their communities.

From birthday cakes for kids who survived the Northern California wildfires, to an aquarium themed cake to celebrate the hard working volunteers at a local aquarium, and to very personal cakes for Duff’s own wedding reception, the show features them all. Boasting of a clientele which includes the likes of President Barrack Obama, American mystery novelist Tom Clancy, the cast of the ABC drama television series ‘Lost’, cast of the satirical sitcom ’30 Rock’, former James Bond actor Sir Roger Moore, and Katy Perry, Duff Goldman is presently the singular most well-known pastry chef in the world.

Duff Takes the Cake Plot: What is it about?

‘Duff Takes the Cake’ serves as the perfect show for culinary enthusiasts around the globe. Each half-hour long episode follows celebrated pastry chef and his impeccable team in their process to create magnificent, innovative cakes for the purpose of celebrating otherwise overlooked achievements of people helping the community through their hard work. Throughout the series, Duff and his team work under seemingly impossible deadlines to transform last-minute heartfelt requests into innovative, state of the art cakes while facing unforeseeable complications such as design challenges and delivery obstacles. The show is made further interesting due to the presupposition that each and every cake must remain intact and on time to some remote delivery locations.

From an ice-cold plunge in a frozen mountain lake, to a fireworks festival in Los Angeles’ Chinatown, to a chaos inducing rodeo arena surround by 2000-pound bulls, nothing is too difficult for Goldman and his team. Try looking up the underwater-themed cake made for the last episode of ‘Buddy vs Duff’ to get an idea of what to expect from this culinary genius. Recipients of the cakes featured on ‘Duff Takes the Cake’, includes Northern California wildfire survivors, hard-working volunteers at a local aquarium, and even Duff himself, on the auspicious occasion of his wedding reception.

Duff Takes the Cake Season 2 Release Date: When will it premiere?

Duff Takes the Cake season 1 premiered on April 15, 2019. When the show was first announced press release regarding Buddy’s show read, “As a fourth generation baker, Buddy Valastro is known as one of the biggest names in the industry, taking his local bakery and building it into an international empire. Now Buddy is paying it forward on new series ‘Bake You Rich‘, as he gives the opportunity of a lifetime to professional pastry chefs as they compete to have their treats produced by the Cake Boss and sold on Carlo’s Bakery website immediately following each episode.” It is clear that the network sees the show as a long term potential. So, we are sure that we will get to see another season of the show. Our best guess is that Duff Takes the Cake season 2 might release sometime in April, 2020.
