Eileen Davidson was born on 15th July 1959 at Artesia, California, U.S. Davidson began her career in modeling and then acted in commercials. In 1982, Davidson was casted in The Young And the Restless, an American soap opera by William J.Bell and Lee Phillip Bell aired on CBS. She played the role of Ashley Abbot in the show in which Ashley became the front burner character of the show. She quit the show in 1988. The following year, Davidson starred in slasher film The House on Sorority Row (1983) by Mark Rosman. She then acted in the film Easy Wheels (1989). The following year, she appeared on few episodes of the show Broken Badges aired on CBS.

In 1991, Davidson played the role of Kelly Capwell in television soap opera Santa Barbara aired on NBC. She continued in the show until it’s cancellation in 1993. She then appeared as Kristen Blake in the daytime soap opera Days of Our Lives broadcasted on NBC television network. She won Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress for her role. In 1999, she returned to her role as Ashley Abbot on The Young and the Restless. She continued in her role until she got fired from the show in 2007. Then she joined the sister soap of the show The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful in 2007 at the request of its executive producer Bradley Bell.

In 2008, Davidson returned to the show The Young and the Restless. In 2012, Davidson reprised her role as Kristen Blake DiMera on Days of Our Lives. She quit the show in 2013. The following year she won the Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama for her performance in Days of Our Lives.

Davidson appeared on the fifth season of the reality television series The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills aired on Bravo. Davidson also starred in movies including Eternity (1990) and Hell and Mr. Fudge (2012).

Davidson co-wrote her first novel Death in Daytime along with author Robert J. Randisi which was about the mystery set in the soap opera world. The novel was released in 2008. She followed it up and wrote three sequels to the novel: Dial  Emmy for Murder which was released in 2009, Diva Las Vegas in 2010 and Swinging in the Rain in 2012.
