The-girl-next-door Emma Stone is all set for 2018 and 2019. With films, sequels and TV series in hand, Stone is the new favourite of Hollywood. Her career had already skyrocketed after Birdman, but with her Best Actress win for La La Land, Stone has attained the status of a superstar actress — a title owned by very few. It will be interesting to see in what direction she takes her career after this newfound success and power. Several actors have lost their way after winning an Oscar; we certainly hope Emma Stone is not one of them.

5. The Favourite (2018)

Directed by Yorgos Lanthimos ‘The Favourite’ will star Olivia Colman, Emma Stone, Rachel Weisz, Nicholas Hoult, Joe Alwyn, James Smith, and Mark Gatiss. No wonder the film has been making a lot of buzz in the industry and amongst film lovers. Set in the 18th century, the story revolves around the politics between two cousins jockeying to be court favourites during the reign of Queen Anne. The film is set for its world premiere at the prestigious Venice Film Festival on August 30th and is scheduled to be released in the United States on 23rd November 2018.

4. Maniac (2018)

Emma Stone tries her hand at the web television miniseries in this American dark comedy. It is based on the Norwegian television series and is set to premiere on September 21, 2018 on Netflix. ‘Maniac’ is written by Patrick Somerville and directed by Cary Fukunaga. The film also stars Jonah Hill. The film follows two strangers caught in the trials of a mysterious pharmaceutical trial. Stone plays Annie who is lost and fixated on her past relationships with her family. She meets the troubled Owen played by Jonah Hill as they circumvent to solve their woes.

3. The Croods 2 (2020)

The Croods are back! The prequel ‘The Croods’ bombed the box office with an earning of astounding $587 million worldwide. The cast of the film – Nicolas Cage, Emma Stone, Ryan Reynolds, Catherine Keener, Cloris Leachman and Clark Duke are all set for a comeback for the sequel about the prehistoric family tackling the problems of the early life.  In the new installment, Leslie Mann will voice a new character. We have to wait for September 18, 2020 to know what the character is all about.

2. Cruella (2020)

Emma Stone is going to star in the prequel to 101 Dalmatians that will tell the story of the origins of Ms. Cruella de Vil. The movie is expected to begin production sometime this year, but nothing has been officially announced by Disney at this time. Cruella will be directed by Alex Timbers (Mozart In The Jungle). Filming is expected to start sometime this year with no release date set, though it is believed that the movie will hit theaters sometime in 2019 or 2020. This live-action tale will explore the early days of Cruella De Vil, an iconic villain corrupted by her power, money, and privilege. Casting of Emma Stone seems to be an interesting choice, considering more often than not Disney villains are mostly older women.

1. Zombieland 2 (2019)

Zombieland returns after 10 years and the fans are more than delighted about it living up to their long awaited expectation for a sequel. The production is set to begin in January 2019.  And will be directed by Ruben Fleischer and written by Rhett Reese, Dave Callaham and Paul Wernick. It will star Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Abigail Breslin and Woody Harrelson.  There has been no knowledge of the plot but there is no doubt that ‘Zombieland 2’ has the potential to promise a nail biting plot. Co-writers Reese and Wernick, who wrote the first Zombieland and have also worked on Deadpool  and Dave Callaham has been the writer of ‘Godzilla’ and ‘The Expendables’. Ruben Fleischer, who directed Eisenberg in ‘30 Minutes or Less’ and Stone in ‘Gangster Squad’, is all set to direct the film again.
