Emma Stone is an American actress. The recipient of numerous accolades, including an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, and a Golden Globe Award. She was the highest-paid actress in the world in 2017. Stone has appeared in Forbes Celebrity 100 in 2013 and 2017, and was featured by Time as one of the 100 most influential people in the world.

Stone began acting as a child, in a theater production of ‘The Wind in the Willows’ in 2000. As a teenager, she relocated to Los Angeles with her mother, and made her television debut in ‘In Search of the New Partridge Family’ in 2004, a reality show that produced only an unsold pilot. After small television roles, she made her film debut in ‘Superbad’ in 2007, and received positive media attention for her role in ‘Zombieland’ in 2009. The 2010 teen comedy ‘Easy A’ was Stone’s first starring role, earning her nominations for the BAFTA Rising Star Award and the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress. This breakthrough was followed with further success in the romantic comedy ‘Crazy, Stupid, Love’ in 2011 and the drama ‘The Help’ in 2011.

Stone gained wider recognition as Gwen Stacy in the 2012 superhero film ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’, and its 2014 sequel. She was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for playing a recovering drug addict in the black comedy ‘Birdman’ in 2014. Her Broadway debut came in a revival of the musical ‘Cabaret’. She won an Academy Award for Best Actress for playing an aspiring actress in the romantic musical film ‘La La Land’ in 2016 and went on to portray Billie Jean King in the biographical sports film ‘Battle of the Sexes’ in 2017 and Abigail Masham in the historical comedy-drama ‘The Favourite’ in 2018. Also in 2018, she starred in the Netflix dark comedy miniseries ‘Maniac’.

1. Zombieland 2 (2019)

Sony Pictures has reunited the cast of ‘Zombieland ‘including Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg and Abigail Breslin — for ‘Zombieland 2’. Ruben Fleischer, who directed the original, is returning to the director’s chair. Original ‘Zombieland’ writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese are also back, having penned the script for the sequel. Additionally, Gavin Polone is returning as producer.

The new movie will once again put the focus on comic mayhem, taking the quartet from the White House to the American heartland as they face off against new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first ‘Zombieland’, as well as some new human survivors. But, most of all, according to the studio, they have to face the growing pains of their snarky, makeshift family.

2. The Croods 2 (2020)

‘The Croods 2’ is an upcoming sequel to ‘The Croods’. The movie had originally been cancelled after the purchase of DreamWorks by Universal Pictures in 2016 but was announced as being back in production on September 19, 2017. It was also confirmed that the original actors would reprise their roles. However, DeMicco, the co-director of the first film, won’t be returning as he is directing Vivo for Sony Pictures Animation. In October 2017, it was reported that Joel Crawford will serve as director and Mark Swift is set to produce.

‘The Croods 2′ is set to be released on September 18, 2020. On November 11, 2016, DreamWorks announced that production for the sequel was cancelled. According to reports, there had been doubts about proceeding with the project before Universal’s acquisition of DreamWorks, and it was DreamWorks’ decision to cancel the film. However, in September 2017, DreamWorks and Universal revealed that the movie was back in production with a release date scheduled for September 18, 2020.

In September 2013, it had been confirmed that Nicolas Cage, Emma Stone, and Ryan Reynolds would reprise their roles in the sequel. Accordingly, the movie will have Nicolas Cage as Grugg, Emma Stone as Eep, Ryan Reynolds as Guy, Clark Duke as Thunk, Catherine Keener as Ugga and Cloris Leachman as Gran. Leslie Mann and Kat Dennings are also included in the cast. Mann would lend her voice to an upscale mother of a rival family, while Dennings would voice her daughter. On October 5, 2018, it was announced that Peter Dinklage had joined the cast to voice Phil Betterman.

3. Cruella (TBA)

Craig Gillespie was in early talks to direct ‘Cruella’, a live-action take on the ‘101 Dalmatians’ villainess. Emma Stone has been set to play the fashionista. Andrew Gunn is producing ‘Cruella’ with Marc Platt. Stone will play infamous villain Cruella De Vil in what is being billed as an origin story, set in the early 1980s with a punk vibe. De Vil was first seen in the 1961 animated classic ‘101 Dalmatians’. Glenn Close played her in the 1996 live-action film produced by John Hughes, which featured the character as the head of a fashion house. Casting of Emma Stone seems to be an interesting choice, considering more often than not Disney villains are mostly older women. Filming is expected to start sometime this year with no release date set, though it is believed that the movie will hit theaters sometime in 2020.

The Favourite (2018)

Directed by Yorgos Lanthimos ‘The Favourite’ stars Olivia Colman, Emma Stone, Rachel Weisz, Nicholas Hoult, Joe Alwyn, James Smith, and Mark Gatiss. The film made a lot of buzz in the industry and won several awards. Set in the 18th century, the story revolves around the politics between two cousins jockeying to be court favourites during the reign of Queen Anne. The film had its world premiere at the prestigious Venice Film Festival on August 30th and released widely in the United States on 23rd November 2018.

Maniac (2018)

Emma Stone tried her hand at TV series with in this American dark comedy. It is based on the Norwegian television series and is premiered on September 21, 2018 on Netflix. ‘Maniac’ is written by Patrick Somerville and directed by Cary Fukunaga. The show also stars Jonah Hill. The show follows two strangers caught in the trials of a mysterious pharmaceutical trial. Stone plays Annie who is lost and fixated on her past relationships with her family. She meets the troubled Owen played by Jonah Hill as they circumvent to solve their woes.
