Teen sensation Finn Wolfhard made his acting debut with the post-apocalyptic drama series ‘The 100.’ His first breakthrough came with the Netflix series ‘Stranger Things’ in which he plays one of the central characters, Mike Wheeler. His other major works include ‘It’, ‘Dog Days,’ ‘Howard Lovecraft and the Kingdom of Madness,’ ‘Lip Sync Battle,’ and ‘Carmen Sandiego.’ Now you must be wondering what is the next Finn Wolfhard movie or TV show? 5. Stranger Things (2016 – )
When asked to sum up the new season of the cult Netflix series ‘Stranger Things‘ in just one word in Jimmy Fallon’s ‘The Tonight Show’ on June 14, 2019, Finn Wolfhard said “Classic!” The young actor who plays one of the central characters Michael “Mike” Wheeler in the seasons of ‘Stranger Things.’ Mike is the best friend of Will Byers (Noah Schnapp), who goes mysteriously missing without a trace. Along with his friends Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) and Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Mike embarks on an adventurous mission to track down Will. But they end up with the mysterious girl Eleven who possesses telekinetic powers. Mike soon befriends Eleven. While the group searches for their lost friend in their own way, Will’s mother Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) and police chief Jim Hopper (David Harbour) investigate the disappearance.
All of them reach in one way or the other at the Hawkins National Laboratory which conducts covert paranormal and supernatural experiments on human subjects for the United States Department of Energy. Soon, the entire town starts reeling under the aftermath of a fourth dimension called “Upside Down” invented by the Laboratory.
Other cast members include Charlie Heaton, Millie Bobby Brown, Natalia Dyer and Cara Buono. ‘Stranger Things’ is written and directed by the Duffer Brothers. The first season of ‘Stranger Things’ premiered in July 2016 on Netflix. Season 2 was aired in October 2017. The streaming giant released the third season on July 4, 2019, which saw the mystery of the Upside Down grow bigger than ever, and finally move outside the confines of Hawkins, Indiana.
4. Carmen Sandiego (2019-)
‘Carmen Sandiego‘ is a Netflix animated show that tells us about the adventures of the titular character who is a globe trotting master thief. However, there is more to Carmen than meets the eye. She is somewhat of a modern day Robin Hood who goes around the world and steals from V.I.L.E. an evil organization and gives back to the victims. She is cloaked in red and is perceived as a master thief by most of the law enforcement agencies due to the scale of her thefts and the degree of theatricality involved. The series explores not only who Carmen Sandiego is, but also where in the world she is embarking on her adventures. Both V.I.L.E. and A.C.M.E. make wrong assumptions about Carmen’s intentions and try to apprehend her for their own purposes. They also seem to be convinced that she is an operative working for the other side, but no one pauses to consider that the wily thief might have an agenda of her own.
However, even the best master thief cannot work all alone and Carmen has a team that she relies on who accompanies her on her adventures. First off, we have Zack and Ivy. However, more importantly, Carmen’s chief pillar of support is Player, a white hat hacker who helps her on many of her escapades. He is a one man support team for Carmen in many cases and though he is not always a part of the operation directly, he is always helping in some capacity or the other. Finn Wolfhard lends his voice to the character of Player and he has been doing a fantastic job so far for us to expect anything else from him in the upcoming seasons as well.
3. The Addams Family (2019)
‘The Addams Family’ is an upcoming animated feature film based on the characters developed by renowned illustrator Charles Addams for the popular New Yorker cartoon series. Finn Wolfhard lends his voice to Pugsley Addams, the son of Morticia Addams (Charlize Theron) and Gomez Addams (Oscar Isaac). Other members in the voice cast include Chloe Grace Moretz as Wednesday, Nick Kroll as Uncle Fester and Bette Midler as Grandma. Allison Janney plays Margaux Needler, Addams’ arch-rival. According to EW, the plot centers on the Addams family gathering, which is a crucial event to patch up the split between family members. But the occasion is disrupted by an overzealous reality television host who unleashes chaos during the party. Directed by Greg Tiernan and Conrad Vernon, ‘The Addams Family’ is set to hit screens on October 11, 2019.

2. The Turning (2020)
‘The Turning’ is an upcoming movie adaptation of the renowned horror novella by Henry James. The horror flick features Finn Wolfhard alongside Mackenzie Davis, Rose Leslie, and Alfre Woodard. The plot follows Kate, a young woman who takes up a new job as the nanny of two orphaned siblings who live in a haunted country mansion. Wolfhard plays one of the siblings named Miles while Brooklynn Prince is cast as his sister, Flora. Soon, Kate starts to unearth secrets buried down under the haunted mansion. The movie is directed by Floria Sigismondi from a script by Carey Hayes, Chad Hayes, and Jade Bartlett. ‘The Turning’ is slated for a January 24, 2020 release by Universal Pictures.

1. Ghostbusters 2020 (2020)
According to Variety, Finn Wolfhard and Carrie Coon are in early negotiations to join the cast of Sony’s upcoming sequel to ‘Ghostbusters.’ Though the plot and cast details are kept under tight wraps, the movie presumably follows the life of a single mom (Coon) and her son (Wolfhard). They play the part of a small family who is affected by the strange things that seem to be happening in their neighborhood. Apart from Coon and Wolfhard, the sequel has been rumored to bring back the cast members from previous ‘Ghostbuster’ movies.
The original ‘Ghostbusters’ cast includes Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Rick Moranis, and Sigourney Weaver. The plot follows Peter Venkman (Murray) who runs a ghost-catching agency along with a team of parapsychologists. Mckenna Grace is also set to join the cast of the upcoming movie. Directed by Jason Reitman from a screenplay he co-wrote with Gil Kenan, ‘Ghostbusters 2020’ is produced by Jason’s father Ivan Reitman, who directed and produced the 1984 film. ‘Ghostbusters 2020’ will be released on July 10, 2020, by Sony Pictures.

The Goldfinch (2019)
Finn Wolfhard will be seen alongside Ansel Elgort in the forthcoming drama feature ‘The Goldfinch.’ Based on the best-selling book of the same name by Donna Tartt, the plot revolves around Theo (Elgort), a young man who finds himself under the wings of a wealthy family after he loses his mother in a blast. But his new patrons are not what they appear to be. Theo’s life is thrown into the darkest alleys of an art underworld thriving in New York City. The narrative of the movie consists of two timelines: one follows Theo as a naive young boy who desperately tries to cope up with the weird ways of the world after his mother’s death, and the second timeline revolves around a grown-up. Theo navigates through the deceptive art underworld of the city in search of precious artwork.
Wolfhard reportedly plays the character of Boris, a Ukrainian student who establishes a warm bond with Theo while introducing him to drugs and alcohol. Sarah Paulson, Jeffrey Wright, Luke Wilson, and Aneurin Barnard round out the cast. ‘The Goldfinch’ is directed by John Crowley from a screenplay adapted by Peter Straughan. Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson of Color Force produce the film for Warner Bros. and Amazon Studios. The movie released on September 13, 2019.
It Chapter Two (2019)
Finn Wolfhard plays the character of young Richie Tozier in the upcoming sequel, ‘It Chapter Two.’ Bill Hader plays the adult Richie Tozier in the movie, which also brings back other members of the Losers’ Club that include James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain, Isaiah Mustafa, Jay Ryan, James Ransone, and Andy Bean. The younger versions of the members are played by Jaeden Lieberher, Sophia Lillis, Chosen Jacobs, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Jack Dylan Grazer, and Wyatt Oleff. The bespectacled Richie is infamous among the club members as a troublemaker, and for his foul language.
By the time of the sequel, he becomes rather successful and moves to Los Angeles. ‘It Chapter Two,’ which is a follow up of the 2017 movie ‘It,’ picks up the storyline 27 years after the events of the first flick. The adult members of the Losers’ Club return to their home town while It a.k.a Pennywise (Bill Skarsgård) resurfaces with a vengeance. Pledging to kill the creature once and for all, the Losers’ Club needs to face their own demons and fears, before they can vanquish Pennywise. However, they come together like before and relying on each other for support, they finally manage to kill the entity that was plaguing the town of Derry from time immemorial. Other cast members include Xavier Dolan, Jake Weary, and Jess Weixler. ‘It: Chapter Two’ is directed by Andy Muschietti from Gary Dauberman’s script. The long-awaited movie was released by Warner Bros. on September 6, 2019.
