Fixer Upper: Behind the Design is an American TV series that first aired on 10th April 2018 on HGTV. This series stars the famous Joanna Gaines who was seen on her previous program known as “Fixer Upper”. This is her new spin-off series where she features details of intricate designs that are not revealed in the original episodes. She also reveals some insights into the renovation from the start such as meeting the homeowners, discussing the renovation methods and so on. She answers various types of questions and reveals the materials used in the program while picking colour palettes, and gives details of accent pieces. In this series, fans are also introduced to her designing team members that were only seen as passers-by in the previous series. This series has earned a 7.5 rating out of 10 by IMDb.
“We get a lot of questions about the designs, and how we get from point A to point Z when it comes to these houses and projects from a design standpoint,” Joanna said in a post on Instagram. “So we have a new series which focuses on each project, and you get more inside scoop on how we came up with a lot of the design decisions and elements we got to incorporate.”

In the previous seasons, Fixer Upper: Behind the Design featured Chip Gaines as himself (host) and Joanna Gaines as herself (Home Renovation Expert). Both will be part of season 3 as well when it returns.

In the second season, Joanna builds a warm haven for a lady whose husband is no more. With the help of his brother Jo, she creates the 1920s by adding some modern and traditional touches. Jo builds a new fixer-upper by blending the countryside as well as the coastal style of renovation. Further, Jo turns a dull cabin into a modern home. They also help their friend by turning the small house into a modern one for his son. Jo uses his creative skills by using warm woods accents and black metal to finish the look. He also adds an artistic rock fire pit. In the next episode, Joanna helps the Lee family to change their boring house into a classic home. Jo faces some challenges to create clean, traditional and a beautiful home. She also must find some ideas to fill the house with some unique elements and features. A family takes help from Jo to change their old-fashioned ranch into a French country retreat. She uses french windows, soft pastel colours as well as natural wood stones to mix the traditional and modern elements. In the next episode, Jo builds a unique house for her sister, brother-in-law and their five children. She adds an extra touch to the home by blending modern, vintage and retro styles. She also renovated three new rooms for their five children.
