What is Ford v Ferrari About?

The two central characters of the film are Carroll Shelby (Damon) one of the greatest automobile innovators in Ford’s history, and Ken Miles (Bale) a WWII veteran, who is also an extremely prolific car racer. The story of the film begins with Ford Motor Company Vice President Lee Iacocca (Jon Bernthal) urging Henry Ford II to buy the Ferrari company, but the owner of the same, Enzo Ferrari, ditches their proposal and ends up selling his company to Fiat.
This makes Henry II bring in Shelby to create a car that would have the potential to take on Ferrari. Shelby ropes in Miles as the driver of the new car that he will be making and also involves him in the process of building the same. The two of them then come up with the now-historical Ford GT40.
