‘Friends’, one of the most popular sitcoms ever made, is coming to select theaters across the US this fall. The 25th anniversary of the iconic sitcom is being celebrated with the event, titled ‘Friends 25th: The One With The Anniversary’, which is happening over several weeks and will be spread across three nights. Starting 7 pm in the evening on September 23rd, September 28th, and October 2nd, four episodes will play at over 1000 movie theaters in the country.

As per the schedule, the episodes due to be screened on September 23rd are – “Pilot-ReDo,” “The One With the Blackout,” “The One With the Birth,” and “The One Where Ross Finds Out”. The ones that will be screened on September 28th are – “The One With the Prom Video,” “The One Where No One’s Ready,” “The One With the Morning After,” “The One With the Embryos”, and the ones that will be screened on October 2nd are – “The One With Chandler in a Box,” “The One With Ross’ Wedding — Part 2,” “The One Where Everyone Finds Out,” “The One Where Ross Got High”. The list of theaters where the episodes will be screened will be announced later.

The event is being organized by Fathom Events, whose CEO Ray Nutt said in a press release, “We’re thrilled to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Friends, a TV show that continues to impact culture and attract new fans from across generations. Fans will have the opportunity to come together and look back on some of the most hilarious and emotional scenes from the acclaimed comedy — this time in theaters.”

Since ‘Friends’ is a Warner Bros. show, the Television Group president and chief marketing officer, Lisa Gregorian, also chipped in, saying “The cultural impact that ‘Friends’ continues to have, 25 years after its premiere, is astounding, a true testament to the genius of Marta Kauffman, David Crane, Kevin Bright, and the incredibly talented cast. It is so amazing to know that the series is still bringing people of all ages together. We could not be more excited to deliver these digitally remastered episodes to theaters — for the first time ever! — so that together, in a shared experience, our loyal fans can enjoy some of their favorite ‘Friends’ scenes in a new way.”

For those unaware, ‘Friends’ tells the story of six friends in their twenties living together in New York, trying to figure out life, love and their jobs, with nobody but each other to turn to, in times of need. Over the years, Ross (David Schwimmer), Monica (Courteney Cox), Rachel (Jennifer Aniston), Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow), Chandler (Matthew Perry) and Joey (Matt LeBlanc) have become favorites with the viewers and fans can check out the tickets for the special screening of the episodes here.
