‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’ is an upcoming American monster film directed and co-written by Michael Dougherty. It is a sequel to ‘Godzilla’ and will be the 35th film in the Godzilla franchise, the third film in Legendary’s MonsterVerse, and the third Godzilla film to be completely produced by a Hollywood studio.

‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’ Cast:

The movie will feature Vera Farmiga as Dr. Emma Russel, Ken Watanabe as Dr. Ishiro Serizawa, Sally Hawkins as Dr. Vivienne Graham, Kyle Chandler as Mark Russell, Millie Bobby Brown as Madison Russell, Bradley Whitford as Dr. Stanton, Thomas Middleditch as Dr. Henry, O’Shea Jackson Jr. as Barnes, Aisha Hinds and Zhang Ziyi. Additionally, Anthony Ramos will be portraying Colonel Martinez, and Jonathan Howard will be potraying Asher, while Elizabeth Ludlow and Randy Havens are expected to appear in roles undisclosed yet. Jason Liles, Alan Maxson and Richard Dorton will all be portraying King Ghidorah through motion capture.

‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’ Plot:

According to Legendary and Warner Bros, the production company for ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’, the new story will be following the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with the giant insect Mothra, the flying monster Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species – thought to be mere myths – rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance. The 2014 movie closed with a news headline referring to Godzilla as “King of the Monsters – savior of our city?” However, given that Godzilla barely interacted with humanity since the U.S. and Russian military forces tried to kill him with a nuclear bomb, it is expected that he will be around to rip other creature(s) to shreds or incinerate them when they come to terrorize the world.

‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’ Release Date:

The film is scheduled to be released on May 31, 2019 in 2D, 3D, and select IMAX theaters. Principal photography  began on June 19, 2017 in Atlanta, Georgia and concluded on September 27, 2017.
