Harley Quinn Episode 7 Recap:
In this episode, titled ‘The Line’, the villainess who supersedes Harley is the Queen of Fables (Wanda Sykes), who is released following decades-long imprisonment within a book on the U.S. Tax Code. And imagine who is the main orchestrator behind the escapade? Well, Harley herself.
What happens is, when the judge’s decision of turning someone into a sentient book is termed as “cruel and unusual punishment”, the Queen of Fables is imprisoned so that she can serve the rest of her life as a mere human. Poison Ivy believes that the punishment is right for such an evil person but Harley, ignoring her advice, breaks out the Queen.
Harley soon realizes her mistake upon witnessing the Queen’s extreme methods, which include slaying an entire family in a picnic. Apart from this, episode 7 also introduces several characters from classic fairy tales such as Humpty Dumpty, a militant mercenary mouse from Cinderella, and the Big Bad Wolf.
But the main theme of this episode is – the line. Harley may want to ascend the ladder of villainy but there are certain things she won’t do. In other words, she would draw a line when the situation demands. And this is what makes us almost root for the titular anti-heroine. But her restrictions may also become a barrier when she attempts to join the Legion of Doom, something which will unfold in the later episodes.
