Hollywood Pays Tribute to ‘Descendants’ Star Cameron Boyce

Cameron Boyce, a young actor best known for his characters in the Disney series ‘Jessie’ and the television movie franchise ‘Descendants,’ has died at 20. The actor had amassed a significant fan following who grew up with him and the Disney Channel during the 2000s and 2010s.

“He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated,” a family spokesperson told ABC News, “The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him.”

The new hit Hollywood as a shocker as the actor was a household name after the success of his Disney Channel characters. “Too Young. Too sweet. Too funny. Just the nicest, most talented, and most decent kid around,” Adam Sandler, who worked with Boyce in movies like ‘Grown Ups’ and ‘Grown Ups 2,’ remembered the actor on Twitter. “From a young age, Cameron Boyce dreamed of sharing his extraordinary artistic talents with the world,” a Disney Channel spokesperson is quoted as saying by Deadline, “As a young man, he was fueled by a strong desire to make a difference in peoples’ lives through his humanitarian work. He was an incredibly talented performer, a remarkably caring and thoughtful person and, above all else, he was a loving and dedicated son, brother, grandson and friend.”

Boyce made his acting debut at the age of 9 with the horror flick ‘Mirrors.’ His breakout role was in the 2010 film ‘Grown Ups’ in which he played the character Keithei Feder alongside Adam Sandler, Salma Hayek, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade, and Rob Schneider. The actor reprised his role in the 2013 sequel ‘Grown Ups 2.’

In 2015, he joined the television movie franchise ‘Descendants,’ a Disney Channel Original. Boyce’s character, Carlos, son of Cruella De Vil went on to become a hit and one of the fan-favorites of the series. Being a younger, weaker and canine-fearing boy, Carlos always falls victim of bullying by his classmates. Boyce appeared in ‘Descendants’ movies such as ‘Descendants: Wicked World’ and ‘Descendants 2.’ A third installment of the franchise. ‘Descendants 3 is set to hit theaters on August 2, 2019.
