Although ‘ID Invaded’ is still catching up with the anime community, it is easily one of the best shows of the season and everyone should check it out at least once. The anime presents the human mind as a virtual playground and meticulously breaks down each of its mysteries. Studio Naz is fairly new and has only given us a few memorable anime like ‘Infinite Dendrogram‘ and ‘Hamatora’ so far, but the animation style and quality of all the shows produced by the studio are just brilliant. ‘ID Invaded’ is a highly recommend anime for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet. And if you have already watched its first season, read on further to everything about its sequel.

ID Invaded Season 2 Release Date: When will it premiere?

‘ID Invaded’ season 1 premiered on January 6, 2020 and with a total of 13 episodes, it ended on March 23, 2020. So far, it has received positive reviews on most anime forums and platforms and has a good chance of being renewed if it does well commercially. Moreover, ‘ID Invaded’ is an anime original which means that it has not been adapted from a manga or light novel series. It does have a manga version of its own which began serialization on October 4, 2019, but this manga is more of a side story for the anime. After the success of its first, ‘ID Invaded’ is now amongst the better-known detective sci-fi anime and is also being compared with ‘Psycho-Pass‘.

After establishing a solid foundation of its concepts in the first season, ‘Psycho-Pass’ also came out with two more seasons and it is a possibility that even ‘ID Invaded’ will tread a similar path. But for now, since no official announcements have been made by the creators of the show, we’ll have to wait and see what the future holds for it. If it is already being considered for a second season by the creators, we can expect ‘ID Invaded’ Season 2 to release sometime in July 2021.

ID Invaded Plot

A new system called the Mizuhanome System has been built by a group of experts that allows humans to enter the minds of criminals. Although it appears to be a cluttered mess of a person’s thoughts, if explored well, one can easily use this technology to deduce the intentions of a criminal. Kura is a specialized police squad and is assigned the task of first solving the complexities of the Mizuhanome System plane and then using it to track down criminals. Sakaido is one of the most brilliant detectives out there who uses his highly deductive abilities to put together all the clues that are found in these ID wells.

However, even for using this system, there is one crucial rule that no one is allowed to break and that is, only a person who has committed a murder, is allowed to delve into the ID wells. Former detective Akihito Narihisago, who is Sakaido’s real-world counterpart, had once killed a serial killer who had brutally murdered his daughter. And that’s how he gets access to the ID wells and uses his knowledge to help the police. With time, he ends up discovering a lot more about serial killers than he had initially imagined.
