I won’t deny, when you hear about ‘Isekai Quartet’ for the first time, it almost comes off as a joke. In fact, at this point, the whole Isekai genre cannot be taken seriously by most anime viewers because of how repetitive it has become. However, ‘Isekai Quartet’ is more like a breath of fresh air as it offers something entirely different from what we’re used to seeing.

It has a huge cast of characters who have previously appeared in popular shows like ‘KonoSuba‘, ‘Overlord‘, ‘Youjo Senki‘, and ‘Re:Zero.’ All of these characters, while they remain loyal to their original dispositions and personality traits, have a chibi-style appeal, which makes them suitable for the comical themes of this show. The whole idea of anime crossovers is seemingly a trend of the bygone era, but ‘Isekai Quartet’ somehow revives it and brings you the best out of it. Surprisingly, its first season did so well that a sequel is now being considered by its creators. Read on to know more about it.

Isekai Quartet Season 2 Release Date: When will it premiere?

‘Isekai Quartet’ season 1 premiered on April 10, 2019, and with a total of 12 episodes, June 26, 2019. ‘Isekai Quartet’ season 2 has already been confirmed and is scheduled to release on January 15, 2020. Since it’s a crossover anime that involves characters from many different renowned Isekai anime, there’s a lot that its creators can potentially do with its second season. Almost every week a new Isekai show is released, so taking that into consideration, the creators of the series can further expand their coaster of characters.

According to reports, the first season was widely accepted by most viewers, especially the ones from North America. So it comes as no surprise that this light-hearted parody of an anime is getting renewed. As of now, a final confirmation date for its season 2 if yet to be announced and as soon as we get any confirmed news on that, we will update it here in this section. Till then, if you enjoy watching anime crossovers, you can check out our list of the same.

Isekai Quartet Plot:

It’s just another normal day for our beloved Isekai characters, who are busy saving their fantastical worlds from evil forces. But suddenly, out of nowhere, a red button appears right before them. Out of curiosity, almost all of them press the red button and get summoned to a whole new world where everything seems unfamiliar. After spending a chunk of their lives in magical lands, the characters have to now survive the normal world. They find themselves in school all over again, where they must compete with normal human kids and even get themselves involved in other day-to-day school activities. The lives of the goofy magical characters, no matter where they find themselves, never gets boring.

Isekai Quartet Characters:

Albedo

At the Great Tomb of Nazarick, Albedo is the is the Overseer of the Floor Guardians. She is ranked way above all the other NPCs in Nazarick and is in charge of the general management and supervision activities of the seven Floor Guardians. She is extremely beautiful and has the natural appearance of a goddess. She has a slender body and wears a silky white dress all the time. Shalltear once called her a big-mouthed gorilla during an argument which suggests that her true form is the opposite of what she truly looks like. She is also quite vocal about all of her opinions and disregards anyone who does not agree with her. Unlike Ainz, who often loses himself when he’s angry, Albedo is quite level-headed all the time and she puts a lot of thought into all of her decisions.

Aqua

Aqua is a petite goddess who has light blue hair and big beautiful eyes. She is an energetic girl who does not like to admit the fact that she loves to get the attention of others. She possesses some extremely advanced magical abilities that allow her to defeat demons quite easily. She can also revive people from the dead and purify water supplies using magic. But instead of honing her skills further, she wastes too much time on learning party tricks that would impress others.

Momonga

Momonga is the main character of ‘Overlord‘, who is also known as the guild master of Ainz Ooal Gown. He is the highest of the Almighty 41 Supreme Beings in the Great Tomb of Nazarick. Momonga is very strategic about everything and tries not to take any of his decisions in a hurry. He keeps an eye on detail and plans out all of his moves during battles. Despite being really strong, he never underestimates his opponents and even ends up overkilling them at times.
