Born on March 11, 1953, Jimmy Lovine is well-known as the co-founder of Interscope Records. He was born into a working-class Italian family residing in Brooklyn, New York. He studied in a Catholic school followed by New York’s John Jay’s college for Criminal Justice. He met a songwriter who got him a job cleaning a recording studio and introduced to music production after he dropped out from college at the age of 19. Lovine has been associated with the production of more than 250 albums since the inception of his career in 1972.

Tupac Shakur was signed as the first hip-hop artist by Jimmy Iovine for his record company.
Death Row Records, which was operated as a subsidiary to Interscope Records, was provided distribution by Jimmy Iovine along with initial funding and financial oversight which became highly successful being a hip-hop label and Interscope’s initial platinum selling chart successes in the 1990s. With platinum artists like Eminem and Lady Gaga, the company brought greater success in the 2000s. Iovine tried his hand and hit the lucky bull’s eye by co-producing Eminem movie 8 miles which opened at #1 at the box office and went on to wing Academy Award with gross more than $240 million worldwide.
Beats By Dr. Dre,a headphones brand was launched by Jimmy in the year 2008 by teaming up with Dr. Dre which went on to capture 20 percent market share of the headphones industry by 2012. Apple further acquired Beats in the year 2014 on a deal of $ 3 billion. Jimmy also had a taste of Television as a mentor on Fox’s American Idol and released the music of his protégés Scotty McCreery, Phillip Phillips, Jessica Sanchez, and Candice Glover through his company Interscope Records.
