Joseph Namath was born on May 31, 1943. He is a retired American football quarter back and actor. He played football for college for the University of Alabama under his coach Paul Bryant from the period of 2 years i.e from 1962 to 1964, and played professional football in the American Football League (AFL) and National Football League (NFL) during the years of 1960s and 1970s. Namath was an icon player for AFL and played for the New York Jets for most of his football career. He concluded his career with the team Los Angeles Rams. He was inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1985.
Namath had a lasting influence on the game of professional football. He retired after playing a total of 143 games and played for 13 years in the both AFL and NFL, including playoffs as well. His overall record is 71 losses, 68 wins, and 4 ties, 64–64–4 in 132 starts, and 4–7 in relief. He completed 1,887 passes for 27,664 yards, had 220 interceptions and threw 174 touchdowns.
In 1999, he was placed at number 96 on the list of the 100 Greatest Football Players of The Sporting News, the only player on the list to have spent a majority of his career with the Jets. In his autobiography, published in 1975, his head coach Bryant called Namath the most natural and honest athlete he had ever coached.

He ultimately converted his disrepute into success with commercials and as an owner of the nightclub, host of the talk show, theater, television actor, pioneering advertising spokesman, and sports broadcaster. He remained a highly recognizable personality in the media and sports world.
Joe also starred in many notable movies including C.C. and Company starring opposite Ann-Margret and William Smith, released in 1970, and in a short 1978 television series, The Waverly Wonders, he also did minor roles on numerous television shows, including Here’s Lucy, The Love Boat, Married… with Children, The Brady Bunch, Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In, The Flip Wilson Show, The Dean Martin Show, The A-Team, The Simpsons, ALF, Kate & Allie, and many more. Namath married Deborah Mays in 1984. At the time of marriage, she was 22 and he was 41. The couple had two children.
