As the title of the anime suggests, love is indeed a battlefield in ‘Kaguya-sama Love is War’. In most other rom-com anime shows out there, especially the ones that are set in schools, you’ll find a very typical storyline where the characters fall in love and then end up facing ups and downs that test their relationship. In these, the girl is usually a “tsundere” but the guy simply cooperates with her ever-changing behavior. ‘Kaguya-sama Love is War’ comes with a bit of a twist to this.

In this anime, both the male and the female protagonists are tsundere and that’s how their love turns into somewhat of a war zone. They would love to date each other but it’s their Tsundere egos that always get in their way and force them to put their feeling on hold. This mature rom-com is now finally returning and the hype around it is as real as it can be. So if you haven’t seen it first season yet, now would be the best time to watch it. Kaguya-sama Love is War Season 2 Release Date: When will it premiere?

‘Kaguya-sama Love is War’ season 1 released on January 12, 2019 and with a total of 12 episodes, it finished airing on March 30, 2019. The anime was very received by viewers from all over the world and played a key role in further popularizing its source manga. By the end of 2019, almost 9 million copies of the manga were in print and it was also among the top ten best selling manga of the year. The good news for all the fans of the show is that its second season has now been confirmed.  ‘Kaguya-sama Love is War’ season 2 is scheduled to release on April 11, 2020. Assuming that it will have a total of 12 episodes just like the first one, we can expect it to end sometime in June 2020.

Mamoru Hatakeyama, who directed the first season, is again helming the show and even the Yasuhiro Nakanishi has returned to supervise its script. Apart from that, A-1 Pictures (‘Sword Art Online‘, ‘Blue Exorcist‘) is again responsible for animating it and its character designing has been done by Yuko Yahiro. The returning cast of the series includes Aoi Koga as Kaguya Shinomiya, Makoto Furukawa as Miyuki Shirogane, Konomi Kohara as Chika Fujiwara, and Ryota Suzuki as Yu Ishigami.
