How did Kelsey Grammer earn his money and wealth?
Kelsey Grammer is a multifaceted person who is an actor as well as a voice actor, director, producer, singer, writer, and an activist. Grammer was born Allen Kelsey Grammer on February 21, 1955, in Charlotte Amalie, Saint Thomas, US Virgin Islands. He has a younger sister and parents divorced when he was two years old. He grew up in Florida where he attended Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale. It was a private preparatory school where he began to perform on stage and sing. He later won a scholarship to the prestigious Julliard School but was expelled since he failed to attend classes. He started smoking the pipe when he was 16 years old after getting prior approval from his mother.
Grammer, during the late 1970’s interned for three years with the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego. He later tried a stint at the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1980. He made his Broadway debut by playing the role of “Lennox” in “Macbeth” in 1981. He followed it up with “Othello” where he played Michael Cassio. Grammer has played the role of Georges in the musical “La Cage aux Folles” which was his Broadway musical debut in April 2010. His performance earned him a nomination for a Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical. His most recent appearance has been in “Big Fish”, a West End production.
One of Grammer’s first television shows was in the miniseries “Kennedy” in the early 1980’s. He starred as Dr. Frasier Crane in the sitcom “Cheers’. His character Frasier gained so much public attention that a spin-off was created and “Frasier” became one of the most successful spin-offs in television history. It was nominated for several awards and won many as well in its 11 seasons of production. Grammer later appeared in “The Sketch Show” which he also produced. He appeared in “Back to You” with actress Patricia Heaton in 2007 and followed it up with “Hank”. He later appeared in “Boss” which was his first dramatic TV series. His performance won him the Best Actor in Television Series Drama at the 2012 Golden Globe Awards.
Grammer has also appeared in films such as “Transformers: Age of Extinction” along with actor Mark Wahlberg and “Partners” along with actor Martin Lawrence. He is also known for his voiceover work and has lent his voice in “The Simpsons” as the voice of Sideshow Bob. He won an Emmy Award for his work in the episode “The Italian Bob”. He was also part of “Toy Story 2” where he supplied the voices for Stinky Pete the Prospector, “Anastasia”, “Barbie of Swan Lake”, “Bartok the Magnificent”, “Gary the Rat”, “Teacher’s Pet” and “Runaway Brain”.
Grammer started his own production house Grammer Productions which has produced shows like “The Game”, “Girlfriends” and “Medium”. Grammer has married four times and has a large family of seven children and one grandchild.
