For an anime to be great, it’s not always necessary for it to have a complex thought-provoking storyline. At times, well-animated and perfectly paced anime shows like ‘Demon Slayer’ can very well be far better than most others with deep storylines. With its fairly linear and generic shounen plot, ‘Demon Slayer’ has now become fan-favorite. Although it does have its own flaws—one of them being its lack of character development—it is easily one of the best anime of 2019 because of its impeccable direction and stunning battle scenes.
Even if you’re not a big fan of shounen anime, give this one a shot and you certainly won’t be disappointed. That being said, if you have already watched its first season and you’re eagerly waiting for season 2, here’s everything you need to know about its renewal status.
Demon Slayer Season 2 Release Date: When will it premiere?
‘Demon Slayer’ season 1 premiered on April 6, 2019, and ended on September 28, 2019. Soon after its release, it became one of the most popular anime of 2019, which further improved the sales of its manga series as well. In February 2020, at the Annual Crunchyroll Awards, ‘Demon Slayer’ was also awarded “Anime of the Year” along with Tanjiro winning the “Best Boy” category and the fight of Tanjiro and his sister Nezuko versus Rui winning the “Best Fight Scene” category. It was later also listed as the anime of the decade by IGN and several other well-known websites. Considering its immense success and popularity in 2019, it is pretty obvious that the anime will return with a whole new season. Unfortunately, as of now, no official announcements regarding its release have been made.
The goods news is that its movie sequel, titled ‘Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Train’, has already been confirmed. Though, this news also suggests that fans of the anime will have to wait a little longer for its second season. We can expect ‘Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Train’ to come out sometime in Fall 2020, and Demon Slayer season 2 to release in 2022. We’re keeping an eye on the updates made by Studio Ufotable and other officials associated with the show. Any confirmed news regarding its release will be updated here.
