DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is an American superhero television series which was developed by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Andrew Kreisberg and Phil Klemmer, who are also the executive producers along with Sarah Schechter and Chris Fedak; Klemmer and Fedak serve as showrunners of the show, which is based on the characters of DC Comics. Legends of Tommorow airs on The CW and is a spin-off from Arrow and The Flash (existing in the same fictional universe). The first season was about Time Master Rip Hunter going rogue after Vandal Savage murders his family and to stop Vandal Savage.
Rip recruits a team consisting of Ray Palmer / Atom, Sara Lance / White Canary, Martin Stein and Jefferson “Jax” Jackson, who combine to form the hero Firestorm, Kendra Saunders / Hawkgirl, Carter Hall / Hawkman, Leonard Snart / Captain Cold, and Mick Rory / Heat Wave. Rip and the team discover that the Time Masters are working alongside Savage (in his domination of the world in 2166) for a successful repulsion of a Thanagarian invasion. In the final episode, Leonard Snart sacrifices himself to destroy the Time Masters.
In Season 2, Legends are plagued by the Legion of Doom, a time-travelling team led by Reverse Flash (Eobard Thawne). Eobard Thawne recruits Damien Darhk, Malcolm Merlyn, and Leonard Snart to find the Spear of Destiny of Biblical fame to alter their fates. The team is joined by Amaya Jiwe / Vixen, an African superhero from the Justice Society of America and Nate Heywood / Steel, a modern-day historian with the power to become solid metal.
In season 3, the team discover that they created anachronisms through time whilst defeating The Legion of Doom, Rip forms a Time Bureau to help fix the anachronisms and informs the legends of the demon Mallus, whose follower Nora Darhk has resurrected her father Damien, Amaya’s granddaughter Kuasa & Gorilla Grodd so that they can release Mallus from his prison by perverting history. The team is also joined by Zari Tomaz, a hacktivist from 2042 whose air-controlling amulet is connected to Amaya’s totem and Wally West / Kid Flash, a speedster formerly under the tutelage of the Flash. The original cast (consisting of Ray Palmer / Atom, Sara Lance / White Canary, Mick Rory / Heat Wave, Nick Zano /Commander Steel, Maisie Richardson-Sellers/Vixen, Tala Ashe /isis & Keiynan Lonsdale/Kid Flash) returned for season 4.
According to Den of Geek, Matt Ryan’s John Constantine won’t be an occasional guest star anymore and joined Legends of Tomorrow as a series regular for season 4. Season 3 was an emotional roller coaster which saw the deaths of RIP Hunter and professor, Martin Stien. Arthur Darvill who played RIP sacrificed himself to buy the legends some time from the impending attacks of The season’s big bad Mallus.
