Lisa Kudrow is an American actress, comedian, writer, and producer who rose to the zenith of popularity as Phoebe Buffay on the television sitcom Friends. She was born as Lisa Valerie Kudrow on the 30th of July in 1963 as the youngest of 3 children of travel agent Nedra S. and physician Lee N. Kudrow in Los Angeles, California. After attending Portola Middle School in Tarzana, California, she graduated from Taft High School in Woodland Hills of Los Angeles. She then got enrolled at Vassar College and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with an ambition to go in her father’s path and research on headaches. Lisa was employed at her father’s staff and worked there for a period of eight years. Meanwhile, she occasionally steered to acting.

She debuted at Los Angeles sketch comedy school The Groundlings as a comedian. After getting her lessons there, she teamed up with Conan O’Brien and Tim Hillman in the troupe Unexpected Company. She also was the only female member of Transformers Comedy Troupe. She made her television debut in 1989 with NBC sitcom Cheers in which she appeared in a single episode followed by a recurring role in three episodes of Bob. In between Cheers and Bob, she appeared playing minor roles in shows like Newhart, Life Goes On, Flying Blind, Mad About You, and Room For Two. She was also seen in television films like Murder in High Places and NBC’s Just Temporary. Kudrow also showed up in the Ice Cube music video True to the Game.

The big break in Kudrow’s career definitely was as Phoebe Buffay on NBC sitcom Friends that began airing in the year 1994. The show became popular worldwide and turned out to be a household name celebrated like never before in the history of television. Kudrow appeared on all 10 seasons. Initially, she got a salary of $22,500 per episode for the first season.

But by the time of ninth and tenth seasons, Kudrow became one of the highest paid TV actresses of all time pocketing a whopping $1 million per episode. She achieved this feat along with her other female co-stars, Jenifer Aniston and Courtney Cox. She also grabbed a number of accolades including the 1998 Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for portraying Phoebe.
