Lisa Diane Whelchel was born on May 29, 1963, in Littlefield, Texas, the U.S. to parents Virginia “Genny”, a real estate agent and father James “Jimmy” Whelchel Sr. who is an electrician. She is a 54-year-old American actress, singer, songwriter, author, and public speaker. She is also known as Lisa Cauble. She spent most of her childhood in Fort Worth, Texas. In 1988, she married Steven Cauble and they have three children, but the marriage ended in March 2012.When she was 12, the talent scouts were looking for children to work with Disney Studios as a Mouseketeer and she got selected and recruited on The New Mickey Mouse Club. She moved to California the next year and appeared on the show from 1977 to 1978. She was a cast member in “The Facts of Life” and at a point had the script changed because of her religious beliefs and sentiments. “The Facts of Life Reunion” was the television movie version of the same.
Apart from being an actor, she was a musician as well. In 1984 she released “All Because of You” which is a Christian pop album which ranked 17 on the Billboard charts and she also got nominated for Grammy Award for Best Inspirational Performance. She is also an inspirational speaker and has delivered talks at churches and conferences in 2004. She also toured in ‘Women of Faith’ conferences in 2009 and spoke on topics like motherhood and child discipline.
