‘Little Voice‘ follows the story of Bess King. Juggling several jobs, taking care of her family, and writing songs keeps her busy through the days. A new collaboration brings a shift in her career prospects, but it doesn’t make the challenges any easier. By the end of the season, Bess confronts her self-doubts and insecurities and overcomes her fears. It ends with a more hopeful turn of events than she had started out with. There is, still, a lot to her story, which means we need to have another season to find out where this journey takes her. Here is all you should know about ‘Little Voice’ Season 2.
Little Voice Season 2 Release Date
‘Little Voice’ premiered on Apple TV Plus on July 10, 2020. The first three episodes were released on Friday, July 10, and the rest six episodes debuted every Friday thereafter. The show received good reviews with the praise directed on the catchy music.
As of now, Apple TV has not renewed the series for another season. Because the show leaves the protagonist’s story on an important turn in her life, a follow-up is almost a certainty for it. Considering the time it takes to come up with the arc for the next season, as well as the songs, we might have to wait a while before we get to know what happens next to Bess. We expect ‘Little Voice’ Season 2 to release sometime in 2022 or later.
Little Voice Season 2 Cast: Who’s in it?
‘Little Voice’ stars Brittany O’Grady in the role of Bess King, a struggling singer-songwriter. Kevin Valdez plays the role of her brother Louie, and Chuck Cooper plays the role of her father. Shalini Bathina plays the role of her roommate and best-friend, Prisha. Sean Teale and Colton Ryan play the roles of Ethan and Samuel, Bess’s love interests. Phillip Johnson Richardson appears in the role of Benny, Bess’s friend who assumes the role of her manager.
All these actors are expected to reprise their roles in the second season. We also expect some new actors to join the cast as new characters that will come into the picture when Bess’s career takes flight and her arc expands.
Little Voice Season 2 Plot: What can it be about?
‘Little Voice’ Season 1 ends with Bess coming out of her hopelessness and taking back the reins of her life. When the man from a record label notes down her name, we know that Bess has made her first mark. In the second season, we expect her professional career to expand as she starts to make a name for herself. Also, she has already been through the phase of questioning her talent and wondering if she was ever good enough to find success as a singer-songwriter, so the next time she faces some criticism or rejection, she will not be so harsh on herself.
Season 2 also promises more complications in her love life. Before she goes on the stage again, she shares a kiss with Samuel. However, all this time, she had her heart set on Ethan, whom she rejected in the throes of her self-loathing. But with the final scene, it is clear that Ethan has not given up on her yet. What does that mean for her relationship with Samuel now?
In the second season, we also expect to find out what happened to Bess’s dad, and if he will come back. Louie’s arc should also expand, and he should get a break of his own in Broadway. We also wish to see more of Prisha and how she broaches the topic of her sexual identity to her parents, who want her to get married to someone, as soon as possible.
