Upon its premiere on Fox in January 2016, ‘Lucifer’ opened to a mixed response from the critics because of its hackneyed cop procedural format. Although it picked pace from season 2, Fox pulled the plug on the urban fantasy series after the third season. Following a fan campaign under #SaveLucifer, the series found a new home on Netflix. The subsequent season 4 gained massive popularity and critical acclaim, courtesy of the Tom Ellis’ electrifying performance, the light-hearted take on the fallen angel, and the overall campy vibe. The first half of the fifth season concluded recently and fans are already curious about the sixth season.

Lucifer Season 6 Release Date

The series was renewed for a fifth and initially final season on June 6, 2019. A month later, Netflix ordered more episodes, increasing the episode count from 10 to 16, to be released in two parts. The first part of Season 5 premiered in its entirety on August 21, 2020, on Netflix. It comprises 8 hour-long episodes.

There has been no official update on the release date of the second half of the fifth season. However, it has been reported that the filming for season 5B would resume sometime in mid-October 2020. Still, it is subject to change in case there is a spike in the cases of COVID-19. If it manages to wrap up the filming according to the schedule, Lucifer’ season 5B is likely to release sometime in 2021, on Netflix.

Amenadiel and Lucifer confront Michael about his wrongdoings and for making Charlie sick. Just when Amenadiel attacks Michael, Maze appears and stands by Michael’s side since he has promised to offer her a soul. In the final moments, just as the three brothers Michael, Lucifer, and Amenadiel gear up for an ultimate showdown, their father God appears, saying “That’s enough!”
