‘MacGyver’ Season 5 Episode 3 is called ‘Eclipse + USMC-1856707 + Step Potential + Chain Lock + Ma’. Mac and Riley are able to successfully retrieve the plans for a suitcase nuke, The plans are believed to have been ordered by the CODEX leader, named Leland. However, when Russ heads back home, he is followed. The followers catch up with him and he ends up getting kidnapped. He is then forced to record a video clip and share it with the team. While watching the clip, Riley catches a glimpse of the CODEX soldier named Roman, whom they had thought to be dead.
Russ informs the squad that CODEX is on the search of a mercenary named Eric Andrews in exchange for Russ’s freedom. Once the clip is recorded, Leland forces Russ into revealing the location of a scepter, which was in the possession of Mac’s Aunt Gwen before she passed away, Now, with the FBI not offering any help, Mac and Desi free Andrews, who is known in Southeast Asia as “General Ma” aka demon. They break him out of prison where he has been imprisoned since 1985. Andrews now turns into an ally and Mac and Desi are finally able to rescue Russ. Once they are back home, Russ informs them that he did not give the entire truth about the scepter’s location. He eventually tells the crew that it contains all the electronic files of all of CODEX’s plans.
