Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic Plot:

The events in Magi: The Labyrinth of magic is loosely based on stories from the collection of Middle-Eastern folk tales known as the Arabian Nights. Chronologically speaking, the events depicted in Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic and Magi: The Kingdom of Magic take place 15 years after the events of Magi: Adventure of Sinbad.

The show is set in a mystical world where mysterious buildings called “dungeons” emerged 15 years ago. When these dungeons emerged, hundreds of adventurers and many armies tried conquering them to acquire their treasures and the immense powers each dungeon held. However, although many tried, everyone failed and any human who entered these dungeons would not be heard of or seen. In this backdrop, a young boy called Sinbad became the first to conquer some of these dungeons 15 years ago, and in this show, it is revealed that only magi – legendary magicians who are kingmakers – can enter these dungeons, survive, and conquer them.

While the prequel followed Sinbad and his adventures at a time when these dungeons remained unconquered, Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic takes place 15 years after Sinbad’s conquests, and follows a young magi called Aladdin. Trapped in a room for many years, Aladdin finally manages to escape. A young and kind magician, his only wish is to explore the world, and in his quest to explore the vast world of the show, Aladdin is aided by a djinn called Ugo, who he can summon with his flute.

As Aladdin begins exploring the world, he soon becomes friends with a merchant called Alibaba Saluja. Aladdin’s first meeting with Alibaba isn’t a very pleasant one as he ends up destroying a cart of goods owned by Alibaba. In debt and desperate to repay the merchant, Aladdin suggests that they conquer a nearby dungeon. Unbeknownst to Aladdin, however, is the fact that his conquest of the first dungeon will set off a series of events which will put the fate of the world at stake.

Over the course of the show, Aladdin makes many new friends and have to defeat evil forces in the kingdom of Sindria. After defeating the evil Al-Thamein in Sindria, Aladdin and his friends go their own ways. While his friends depart for adventures of their own, Aladdin heads to a kingdom called Magnostadt – a mysterious place ruled by magicians. As Aladdin steps into this new land to hone his magic and investigate mysterious happenings, a great war begins to loom on the horizon, putting the entire fate of the world at risk.

Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic Characters:

Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic has dozens of characters, but Aladdin and his group of friends make up the list of main characters in the show.

When he heads to Magnostadt after Sindria, Aladdin is classified as a Red Magician and becomes extremely proficient at using flame and heat magic. Despite his terrifying powers, however, Aladdin is a kind and cheerful kid who can make friends easily. Having spent his childhood in complete isolation, Aladdin is also shown to be naive and curious about the world. In the show, it is revealed that Alibaba grew up idolizing Sinbad, and that royal blood courses through his veins. Later in the show, Alibaba conquers Amon’s Dungeon and becomes chosen by Aladdin to become a king.

Morgiana: The third and final main protagonist of the show, Morgiana is the descendant of a hunting tribe. She was initially a slave to a man called Jamil, but joins Alibaba and Aladdin on their journey after Alibaba rescues her. Initially emotionless and unfriendly, Morgiana opens up to Aladdin and Alibaba over time, becoming very close friends. While Morgiana looks like an average human being, she can close distances between herself and enemies in the blink of an eye, and is shown to possess tremendous strength.
