He was anointed as ‘People’s Sexiest Man Alive 2005.’ For the fans, he always evokes the air of a cowboys, with their tan intact, shirt buttons undone and a LOL squeezed into a smirk at the corner of his lips. Matthew McConaughey is a true McConaughey, who never lest go off his McConaissance. His public image has still been superimposed with his debut movie role, a peace-loving stoner in Richard Linklater’s ‘Dazed And Confused,’ named Wooderson. While the Wooderson aura hanging around his head, he churned out a number of romantic comedies, including ‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days,’ ‘Failure to Launch’ and ‘Fool’s Gold and Ghosts of Girlfriends Past.’ Both the fans and actor fed up with bouncing around on the beach or chasing women through the streets of Manhattan.
It was a time for a change for Matthew McConaughey and he took inspiration from the most obvious source, his father. He died when McConaughey was 21 and was a reputed businessman in the oil industry. He was the one who taught McConaughey to pick the interesting in life over the secured options. McConaughey stopped reading romcom scripts and the next time, we saw him playing the nefarious Killer Joe Cooper in ‘Killer Joe,’ the greedy Kenny Wells in ‘Gold’ and the bony hick Ron Woodroof in ‘Dallas Buyers Club.’ Ron Woodroof brought his first Oscar in 2014. McConaissance was redefined when he gained 45lb to become Kenny Wells in ‘Gold’ and shed around the same weight for ‘Dallas Buyers Club.’
