One of the most terrifying monsters that I have seen in anime is Bahamut. I mean this beast is enormous and scary. Its powers are similar to the Gods. Hundreds and thousands of years ago this terrifying monster was responsible for the destruction of the lands of Mistarcia. Mistarcia was a place where Gods and demons coexisted with humans. Fearing that the existence of the world was at stake all the three factions did their best to seal this powerful beast. The key was divided into three parts and distributed among the three factions to safeguard peace. Now, it seems that a similar fate is about to befall again. Favaro Leone is an easy-going bounty hunter who cares only about himself. He is on the run from Kaiser Lidfard, a fellow bounty hunter swore revenge upon Favaro. Favaro soon encounters Amira a girl who has half of the key and his life takes a drastic turn towards more serious stuff regarding the safety of the entire world.

He is sent to a nearby village where a vampire is turning humans into zombies. Alucard takes care of the threat and neutralizes the enemy but the fight ends up injuring a young policewoman. Alucard gives her two choice- die as a human or live as a vampire. She chooses the latter option and becomes the vampire servant of Alucard.

If you are looking for an anime with a similar premise to ‘Attack on Titan’ then ‘God Eater’ is one of them. The year in ‘God Eater’ is 2071. Humanity is very close to extinction thanks to the appearance of Aragami, huge monsters who consume everything in their path. They kill and eat humans. To make matters worse we have no means to hurting them since conventional weaponry does not work on them. Our only hope of survival is fusing humans with the oracle cells so that they can wield the God Arc and become God Eaters. God Arcs are the only weapons which can kill the Aragami. Lenka Utsugi is one of the God Eaters but his God Arc is unique since it has both blade and gun. Now, he must master his weapon so that he can fulfill his dream of ridding the world of the Aragami.

Assiah and Gehenna are the worlds of humans and demons respectively. The only way one can cross over to the other world is via possession. Demons possess human beings to come to Assiah. To fight demons people with special skills known as exorcists are present. But for someone like the demon king, Satan, to come to Assiah one needs a suitable vessel. That’s why he manages to have a son in the world of Assiah so that when the time comes he can possess him. Rin Okumura is a normal but troublesome teenager. One day he walks into an ambush by the demons which leads him to find out that he is actually the son of Satan. But Rin does not want to join hands with his biological father and rather trains to become an exorcist in the hopes of being able to defeat Satan.

3. Dragon Ball (1986)
The entire franchise of ‘Dragon ball’ including the various arcs and series revolves around the main casts training hard to be able to fight some extraterrestrial monster trying to destroy or dominate Earth. This thing goes on repeating again and again but still, I find it somewhat entertaining. The anime started back in the 80s and has been going on since. Goku is a Saiyan who was sent to planet Earth upon the destruction of his home planet. He has a tail whose significance we later find out and lives all alone in the forest. he then encounters a girl by the name of Bulma who is in search of the legendary dragon balls. Collecting all seven of these balls will grant one wish to the collector. Goku joins her in her search and lest her use the dragon ball he possesses. They also meet with a martial arts expert Master Roshi and wannabe disciple Kuririn.

2. Attack on Titan (2013)
It has been 5 years since this anime hit the screens and its’ popularity is still increasing. We are already three seasons into the series with the second half of the 3rd season set to air in the month of April this year. This anime is one of the best monster anime out there. Huge humanoid monsters known as Titans have pushed humanity to the brink of extinction by eating them and destroying their lands. Many of the remaining of the humans train using special gears to attack and kill Titans by cutting their nape. After witnessing the death of his mother at the hands of the Titans Eren Yeager vows to kill all the Titans for good. But as the series progresses he understands that the truth is not as black and white as it seemed.

1. Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu (2014)
Parasytes are aliens which invade Earth and burrow into the brains of humans taking full control of their body. They can even morph the body of the humans they are inside into weird monster-like figure and kill and feed on other humans. Shinichi Izumi is one of the unfortunate people who are under attack by a parasyte but the parasyte which attacks him could not get inside his head and ends up staying in his right hand. The duo now must come to an agreement to watch each other’s back since both of them are an anomaly to their respective species.
