Mr. Robot Season 4 Episode 11 Recap:
Episode 11 of ‘Mr. Robot’ is titled ‘eXit’. We already know that Elliot planned to go to the Washington Township Power Plant. In the last episode, when Elliot said his goodbyes to Darlene, the situation was shown from the latter’s perspective. Now, we see the same scene from Elliot’s perspective as he not only says goodbye to Darlene but Mr. Robot as well. It is clear that this farewell means a lot to him, as he has to move ahead on his own now. Elliot has to do something for himself and by himself.
The plan is to stop Whiterose by uploading malware into the framework. Even as Elliot shows up, he sees the plant abandoned. This must signal something wrong, but the hacker is compelled to see the mission through. He starts uploading the malware but is soon stopped by the Dark Army and Whiterose. Led into a room, Elliot and Whiterose have a talk about their views on the world, the forces of good and evil, as well as love and self-hate in human beings.
There is a moment when Whiterose kills herself, much to Elliot’s shock. Mr. Robot shows up to help Elliot escape, but the latter seems determined to stay on and see the job through. Soon, the scene transitions to Elliot in an apartment, which is not his own. It seems this Elliot has his life sorted, personally and professionally. However, when he returns to his apartment after a good day, slightly marred by the sense that something is wrong, he sees hacker Elliot at his computer and asks who he is.
This conundrum is what will be addressed in the finale as the show comes to a wonderful conclusion.
