NCIS: Los Angeles Season 11 Episode 14 Recap:
The episode starts with Callen asking Nell for a favor, to help locate Anna, his ex-girlfriend, who’s implicated in a homicide in Barcelona. Nell agrees to look into it, but more pressing matters are at hand. It seems that Go Go Go, a tech company, hired a former Navy serviceman-turned software engineer.
The team has to do some digging, but it turns out that this tech company might be involved with the Chinese government, helping them build a search engine that can lead to mass arrests, and numerous human rights violations. Digging into the dead employee’s life does not yield many results either.
The team decides to look more closely and finds a familiar name among the advisory board. They go to Katherine Casillas, who had worked with them in the past. However, Katherine’s seeming callousness about the matter astonishes them. Meanwhile, some Saudis cause a problem, wherein the NCIS team gets a chance to step in and get to the bottom of the matter.
It turns out that Go Go Go and Katherine were working against the Chinese government, ensuring the code never worked, and they never got the search engine. The Saudis most likely killed the ex-serviceman to threaten the company into sharing information. At the end of the episode, Nell has bad news for Callen, because the person involved in the Barcelona homicide is apparently linked to many crimes across Europe. It remains to be seen what kind of trouble Anna is in.
