Acting has always been there in Nicholas Hoult’s family line. His great-aunt, Dame Anna Neagle, was a popular actress. Though Hoult debuted with the 1996 movie ‘Intimate Relations,’ he had to wait till the 2002 flick ‘About a Boy’ for his first major breakthrough. Hoult played the role of Nicolas Cage’s son in his first American flick, ‘Weather Man’ in 2005. At the age of 17, he earned critical acclaim for his performance in the British teen drama series, ‘Skins’ in 2007.
In 2009, Hoult got his second breakthrough when director Tom Ford cast him in ‘A Single Man.’ The next decade was a fortuitous period for Hoult. He debuted in the ‘X-Men‘ universe as the recurring character Beast with the 2011 movie ‘First Class.’ He reprised the role in ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ (2014) and ‘X-Men: Apocalypse‘ (2016). Movies like ‘Warm Bodies’ (2013) and ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ (2015) helped Hoult to emerge as an A-lister.
