Nicolas Cage was born in Long Beach, California, USA, on 7th January 1964. He went to Beverly Hills High School. He showed an interest in acting at the early age and attended UCLA School of Theatre, Film, and Television. In 1982, he debuted in the film industry through a minor role in Fast Times At Ridgemont High. He then acted in his uncle Coppola’s films Rumble Fish and Peggy Sue Got Married. A year later he appeared in science fiction thriller Knowing (2009), by Alex Proyas. Also in the year, he starred in The Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans (2009). The following year Cage starred in period piece Season Of the Witch (2010), as a 14th-century knight and in The Sorcerer’s Apprentice (2010).

In 2012, he performed in the sequel to Ghost Rider, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. The next year, he gave voice to Grug Crood in the animated film The Croods which was a commercial hit grossing over $585 million. Cage co-starred in Brain Taylor’s horror comedy Mom and Dad released in 2018.
